Policies in sub-Saharan Africa are constrained by limited knowledge of climate extremes and a focus on agricultural production rather than nutrition supply. Here we model the impacts of food extremes on national-level calorie and nutrition supply in Zambia for production and nutrition focused scenarios. We identify the specific cropland yeild and import increases required to acheive climate-resilient nutrition security and highlight policy options.
