Projektet omfattar produktutveckling av en stavspets med syfte att förbättra pendelrörelsen och skapa en mer realistisk åkkänsla vid rullskidåkning på rullband. Genom optimering av design och materialval utvecklades en lättare stavspets med förbättrade rörelseegenskaper. En litteraturstudie, diskussioner med sakkunnig personal samt analys av tidigare prototyper låg till grund för den information som analyserades för att generera koncept och nya prototyper. Prototyperna analyserades och vidareutvecklades innan de testades med hjälp av mekaniska tester för att säkerställa tillräcklig hållfasthet. De prototyper som uppfyllde kraven testades därefter av skidåkare för att utvärdera konstruktionernas funktion och användarupplevelse innan en slutgiltig produkt togs fram. Rapporten redovisar resultaten från testerna samt i vilken utsträckning projektet lyckades utveckla en fungerande produkt. Projektet resulterade slutligen i prototyp 10, vilken uppvisar en lättare design och ger en förbättrad pendelrörelse samt en mer realistisk åkkänsla.

The project involved the product development of a pole tip aimed at improving pendulum motion and creating a more realistic skiing experience during roller skiing on a treadmill. Through optimization of the design and material selection, a lighter pole tip with improved movement characteristics was developed. A literature review, discussions with expert personnel, and analysis of previous prototypes formed the basis for the information analyzed in order to generate concepts and new prototypes. The prototypes were analyzed and further developed before being tested using mechanical tests to ensure sufficient strength and durability. The prototypes that met the requirements were then tested by skiers to evaluate the functionality of the designs and the user experience before a final product was developed. The report presents the results of the tests and the extent to which the project succeeded in developing a functional product. The project ultimately resulted in Prototype 10, which features a lighter design and provides improved pendulum motion of the pole as well as a more realistic skiing experience.
