This master’s thesis examines procedural environmental justice among local stakeholders in a case study of the lithium mining project in Cínovec. The literature review presents then consequences of lithium mining and current aspects of procedural (in)justice in lithium mining cases within the context of the green transition. The theoretical framework of this study is based on five principles of procedural justice. Empirical data and their subsequent analysis highlight respondents’ insights regarding procedural justice. The study’s findings identify shortcomings in areas such as communication, information provision, power imbalances and participation within the Cínovec Lithium Project. The conclusion describes the study’s contributions to the research field of procedural environmental justice and points to opportunities for future research.
