Abstract [sv]
Abstract [en]
This study investigates the factors influencing older adults’ acceptance of digital prescriptionrenewal via 1177. Adopting an abductive approach, the study is based on the TechnologyAcceptance Model (TAM) and aims to identify both established and external factors affectingacceptance, as well as to provide nuanced insights into these factors. The study is motivatedby the increasing digitalization of healthcare in Sweden and prior research indicating thatolder adults use digital healthcare services to a lesser extent than younger people. The studyused a qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews withindividuals aged 60 and above. The empirical material was analyzed using thematic analysis, with TAM serving as the analytical framework. The findings show that perceived usefulnessis the most prominent factor influencing acceptance, as the service is perceived astime-saving, flexible and convenient. Although several respondents found the service to haveusability limitations, it was still used due to its high perceived usefulness. Overall, attitudestowards the service were positive, and most respondents expressed willingness to start- orcontinue using it. In addition to the core TAM factors, several external factors were identified, including experience, control, the human factor, trust, self-efficacy and support.
