Abstract [en]

IoT in this study is described as networks of different physical devices such as household appliances that are designed with electrical components, software, sensors and connectivity that enables all the different appliances to interact with each other and exchange data. The gap in understanding the practical implications of technologies in teaching and how IoT can be beneficial is something that is addressed, which is also reflected in our research question: How can Internet of Things (IoT) support teachers to reflect on their teaching? To answer this, a qualitative approach to data collection was taken, where five semi-structured interviews with teachers and school administrators were analyzed through thematic analysis in order to discover teachers’ thoughts on how IoT affects educational settings, and how this technology can be beneficial to teachers. The study finds that IoT can be an invaluable tool in providing new insights into how educators interact with their classrooms, and the data provided can be a concrete way to help teachers reflect on various aspects of their teaching.
