This thesis examined the scope and quality of psychosocial supervison in Sweden. Based on surveys, interviews with supervisors, and analysis of procurement documents, the study revealed a practice undergoing change. The findings indicate that the scope of supervision has decreased, primary through longer intervals between sessions. At the same time, perceptions of quality were ambivalent. Some supervisors argued that quality has improved through greater focus and clearer objectives, while others raised concerns that supervison risked being eroded when continuity and slowness were lost. The study highlighted tensions between efficiency and depth, as well as between organizational demands and professional ideals. The conclusions were that scope itself can be considered a quality parameter, and that the future development of supervision needed safeguard time and space for reflection to ensure sustainable professional growth. Moreover, the findings suggested that new forms of supervision may need to be developed depending on the scope available.
