    Abstract [en]

    Former colonized countries, especially in Africa, have suffered a tough political climate, often under the leadership of a dictator. The process of implementing democracy has, in many states, often been violent and terrifying.

    Under these circumstances, it has been hard to build institutions where people feel united as one nation. Poverty, corruption, old cultural and religious boarders and expressions among other circumstances are factors that you have to consider when developing a strong economic and democratic nation.

    Women often have a marginalized role within these states. In order to achieve the right to get education, or to be a part of the political arena, they have had to struggle both against men and other women.

    Most of Uganda’s income comes from the agriculture. Within this sector there are mostly women working under poor circumstances. To develop female self-employment some of the Swedish aid is given within micro-financial and cooperation projects to improve the economy for the nation and the women’s status within society.

    This study could be of importance to see if or how strategically invested aid actually improves the role of women as good recourses for building the nation Uganda. The answers and the conclusions given could also give clues, important for nation building processes in general and for women as nation builders in particular, in the continuing work in building the nation Uganda.

    The purpose for this dissertation is to interview women that are participating in two different projects that are supported by Swedish NGOs, in order to see if their own experiences of being part of the projects correspond to the project plans aims.

    This dissertation has been made possible through a Minor Field Study Scholarship, financed by SIDA, handled by The International Programme Office for Education and Training, which is a government agency that promotes academic exchanges and cooperation across national borders.

    Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur teknikundervisningen i grundskolan

    kan planeras och genomföras för att eleverna skall ges möjlighet att utveckla

    förmågorna inom teknikämnet. För besvarandet av detta syfte har en systematisk

    litteraturstudie genomförts där tidigare forskning har använts. Genom sökning i

    databaserna NorDiNa, Avhandlingar.se, Summon och ERIC (Ebsco) har relevant

    forskning valts ut som sedan kritiskt granskats, sammanställts och diskuterats.

    Forskning visar att lärarna har både en ämnesdidaktisk kunskapsbrist och en

    bristande förståelse för tekniken som ämne vilket påverkar deras förmåga att koppla

    teknikämnet till kursplanen. Detta påverkar även tiden de lägger på att planera sin

    undervisning samt hur de använder materialet i sin teknikundervisning, samtidigt

    visar forskningen att det finns för lite material tillgängligt inom

    teknikundervisningen. Forskningen visar att läromedel har ett begränsat språk med

    en inkonsekvent begreppshantering och att språket inte främjar problematiserande

    diskussioner samt att de tekniska systemen inte är synbara i läromedelstexterna.

    Forskningen indikerar även att en speciellt utformad tekniksal kan främja att en

    fördjupad lärsituation skapas i det praktiska arbetet.

    Abstract [en]

    This report contains a statistical study where the new housebuilding in the municipality of Gävle is studied and the effects of this on the housing market. The study is based on the new housebuilding in progress between year 2004 and 2006 and also the planned residential area called Gävle Strand which is going to be built in the autumn of 2006. The effects, that the new-housebuilding gives in the municipality of Gävle, we could gather by studying how the factors that concern the choice of the tenure, the geographical location, the housing-composition and the age-distribution have an influence on the development. By grouping the new housebuildning in different districts, except for Gävle Strand which already constitute a district by itself, we could make some comparisons to see if the development is differential in different parts of the municipality. The study is based on statistics of population which mean it doesn’t take all the meaning factors for moving into account. It has revealed that the living environment is very important when choosing residence for living. The current living situation has a clear connection by the choise of tenure and geographical location. That humans comply with a natural housing career in general has also appeared clearly in our study. With a natural housing career means here that the human being in the own adult housing goes from the small rented flat to the larger tenant-owner falt or detached house for to later in the pensionable age return to the smaller rented flat or tenant-owner flat.

    Abstract [en]

    In this paper, the impact of divorce ­­­on individual financial behavior is empirically examined. Evidence that divorcing individuals increase their saving rates before the divorce is presented. This may be seen as a response of the increase in background risk. After the divorce, negative divorce effects on individual saving rates and risky shares are established, which may lead to disparities in wealth accumulation possibilities between married and divorced. Women are, on average, shown to not adjust their precautionary savings to the same extent as men before the divorce. I also provide tentative evidence that women reduce their financial risk-taking more than men after a divorce. This could potentially be a result of inequalities in financial positions or an adjustment towards individual preferences.

    Abstract [en]

    This thesis consists of an introductory part and four self-contained papers related to individual financial behavior and risk-taking in financial markets.

    In Paper [I] we estimate within-family and community social interaction effects upon an individual’s stock market entry, participation, and exit decision. Interestingly, community sentiment towards the stock market (based on portfolio outcomes in the community) does not influence individuals’ likelihood to enter, while a positive sentiment increases (decreases) the likelihood of participation (exit). Overall, the results stress the importance of accounting for family social influence and highlight potentially important differences between family and community effects in individuals’ stock market participation.

    In Paper [II] novel evidence is provided indicating that the influence from family (parents and partners) and peer social interaction on individuals’ stock market participation vary over different types of individuals. Results imply that individuals’ exposure to, and valuation of, stock market related social signals are of importance and thus, contribute to the understanding of the heterogeneous influence of social interaction. Overall, the results are interesting and enhance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of social interaction on individuals’ financial decision making.

    In Paper [III] the impact of divorce ­­­on individual financial behavior is empirically examined in a dynamic setting. After the divorce, a negative divorce effect on individual saving rates and risky asset shares are established, which may lead to disparities in wealth accumulation possibilities between married and divorced. Women are, on average, shown to not adjust their precautionary savings to the same extent as men before the divorce. I also provide tentative evidence that women reduce their financial risk-taking more than men after a divorce, which could be a result of inequalities in financial positions or an adjustment towards individual preferences.  

    Paper [IV] provides novel empirical evidence that gender identity is of importance for individuals’ financial risk-taking. Specifically, by use of matching and by dividing male and females into those with “traditional” versus “nontraditional” gender identities, comparison of average risk-taking between groupings indicate that over a third (about 35-40%) of the identified total gender risk differential is explained by differences in gender identities. Results further indicate that risky financial market participation is 19 percentage points higher in groups of women with nontraditional, compared with traditional, gender identities. The results, obtained while conditioning upon a vast number of controls, are robust towards a large number of alternative explanations and indicate that some individuals (mainly women) partly are fostered by society, through identity formation and socially constructed norms, to a relatively lower financial risk-taking.

    At the centre of this dissertation is the artistic formation and, as an extension, the scientific formation. The purpose of the work is to reflect on the way from ambition to creation, to capture what about this process is unique. I have chosen two objects for my research. First, the Swedish playwright Lars Norén's (1944-) direction of a new work for the theatre, his own play Kyla (Chill). Second, Swedish Television (SVT) as they produce their largest-ever stake in the field of entertainment, the Reality-TV series Riket (The Kingdom).

    Concerning the creative process, I partly focus on beginning and end, and partly on the transformation from chaos to order. In this way I am able to focus on the way something unexpected occurs. The question of what constitutes creativity is often raised, but I set out to frame it in my own way: not only with the help of two processes, but also within myself. What is the difference between being a subject, doing something oneself, and observing? In this work I assume both positions. I am a registering and documenting researcher as well as a filmmaker.

    The work is structured by a principle of three: a documentation of the creative processes, a documentary film on Norén, Kall (Norén's drama), and a dissertation which unites everything into a synthesis.

    First, my work acts as a purveyor of insights into and understanding of two major and very different creative processes. Second, it is about two extremely established contemporary phenomena: Norén and the SVT together constitute somewhat of a counterpoint, which make it possible to compare a creative process within the art of theatre to one within TV/entertainment. Third, my work creates a field of tension between the creative process and the analysis via my own production: Norén's drama is both a tool of interpretation in the study of Norén and an intensifying of the overall research result. Fourth, my dissertation aims to bring together aspects, categories and literature in a new way.

Kännetecknande för detta projekt var Noréns beslut att fortsätta utarbetandet av texten inte bara under repetitionsperioden, utan även efter spelperioden. Detta förde i fokus det - långt ifrån oproblematiska - förhållandet mellan hans ursprungliga konstnärliga vision och samarbetet med skådespelarna. Kyla betonade också flera andra aspekter av Noréns estetik och sätt att arbeta, t.ex. förhållandet mellan det självbiografiska och skildringen av den sociala verkligheten samt mellan det expressionistiska och realistiska i hans pjäser och produktioner, och även hans arbete som regissör, hur han fångar tonen i det som förblir outtalat, och motståndet mot att avsluta sina texter.     Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the nurse and intended psychotherapists perspective on learning in the field between formal learning and informal learning in practice. For this purpose, the nurses that educate further to preschool teachers and intended psychotherapists is examined. The four research questions are as follows; (1) How does the nurses and the intended psychotherapists valuate and experience the relation between formal education and informal learning in practice? (2) How does the nurses and the prospective psychotherapists valuate and experience that their learning changes over time? (3) How does the nurses and the prospective psychotherapists valuate their learning in relation to different persons around them? What differences and common attribute is there between a nurse and a prospective psychotherapist? The empirical collection of the study is based on a survey and the selection covers in total 11 nurses from Stockholm university and 43 intended psychotherapists at Stockholm university and Uppsala university. The study is analyzed through Ellströms theory about cognitive- and contextual perspective on learning, adaptions- and development-minded learning and Bertells theory about learning at the first- and secondhand arena. The study process shows that there are less research made earlier about the investigated professions and their learning during further education, therefore the study is an important contribution to the field of knowledge. The data that the analyzes is founded on in the study is gathered through a web survey. Measures are executed through the software PSPP. It is clear that from the result of the study that the two professions where similar in its positions that treated the relations between formal education and informal learning in practice. It is also possible to interpret that the attitude of the respondents indicates that they are approaching or found themselves in the development-minded learning, which have been addressed in the change of learning over time. Furthermore the result of the study indicates that the respondents learning in relation to others varieties depending on profession and relation. The biggest difference between professions in the study shows when they are to assess in what extent they discuss new knowledge they have learned with their manager. Common features to be seen is that they willingly discuss the new knowledge they learned with their classmates. The study leads to conclusions in respect to semiformal relations. Where the classmates role in the respondents learning is questioned and shown in a another dimension. This with the help of a relative new theoretically point of view.

    Abstract [en]

    Bastutjärn Ni-Cu-Co mineralization is located within a gabbroic intrusion approx. 10 km north-east of Norsjö village in the south-central parts of the world class massive sulphide Skellefte District. The mineralization is situated at the contact zone between a gabbroic unit, classified as gabbronorite, and a graphite- and sulphide-rich metasedimentary unit. Three different types of mineralization occurs, a disseminated low grade, extensive volume with disseminated pyrrhotite, a semi-massive pyrrhotite mineralization and a semi-massive pyrrhotite mineralization-rich in graphite and sedimentary fragments. Ore bearing minerals are solely pyrrhotite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite. Formation of the Bastutjärn Ni-Cu-Co deposit includes an involvement of sulphur from the surrounding crustal rocks to achieve sulphide immiscibility. The separated droplets of sulphides creates layers of more massive mineralization. The contact zone between the two rock units is consisting of an area where a major mixing process has occurred, which can be seen by xenoliths and hybridization of the gabbroic rock. Large amount of graphite is found within the mineralization, suggesting that an intense mixing with the surrounding sedimentary unit took place during formation.

    In a more and more digitized society, the education has also been steeped in this digitization. This has lead to a rise in the production of video lectures which students, mostly at degree level, more often use for learning purposes. E-learning has many advantages since it, among other things, leads to an increased flexibility when studying. There are many previous studies on learning behaviours, screen sizes and video lectures. Earlier studies show that learning can differ depending on screen size but there are also studies showing the opposite. This bachelor’s thesis examines if screen size has an effect on how much one learns from watching a video lecture. This was done by grouping 34 test participants into three groups where they all watched a video lecture on three groups of screen sizes: small (4”-7”), medium (13”-17”) or large (27”). A few days before and directly after the test the contestants answered a survey with questions regarding the content in the specific video. The results are that differences between these screen sizes do not have a significant impact on how much one learns from a video lecture of interview type. This therefore means that one does not have to consider the screen size for that type of video lecture, either as a student or a video producer.

    The aim of the present study was to illuminate and problematize supportive educational measures in mathematics and to examine how they are applied in reality and how they interpret educational measures. Further, it aims at finding guidelines for how Supportive educational measures should be written to become a living document to be a support for the students and teachers. The study was conducted with two methods, document analysis and semi-structured qualitative interviews. First an analysis of four supportive educational measures was performed and then the analysis was followed up by interviews of two special educators in mathematics and two teachers. The respondents came from two different schools. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant difference between teachers and special educators in mathematics about how they think about supportive educational measures. The teachers don’t think that they work with the supportive educational measures in an efficient way but the special educators in mathematics find it to be a living document. But all four respondents found that it nowadays is easier and better to work with supportive educational measures since they started it use the digital tool UNIKUM. All four students in this study were offered supportive education measures, where they had several appointments per week with the special educator in mathematics. At these appointments the students receive individual, intensive training regarding basic numeracy and worked together with the educator to achieve the goal of a higher level of mathematics self esteem and motivation. Another result of the study was that several schools that was contacted didn’t have any supportive educational measures written in mathematics. Instead their efforts where maid by doing general adjustments for all students in the classroom.

    Abstract [en]

    An increasingly common scenario in software development, and certainly in webtechnologies, is that companies customize parts of the developed software to run on third party platforms. The purpose of this is often to increase brand recognition or to increase traffic to their websites. Quite often the target platforms are numerous and are far from homogenous while the software itself is required to have preserved functionality in its original environment. This creates numerous difficulties both within the software structure, maintenance and in development routines. This thesis considers some of those difficulties and their potential solutions. Focus is put on an online real estate search company, Booli Search Technologies AB, that would like to offer its partners parts of its platform for implementation on their websites. Booli states both general and specific demands on the customization regarding functionality,preserved performance, security and updates.

    The report begins with a survey of literature and related work within the area.Interesting solutions are then discussed and evaluated. Finally, a prototypeimplementation is done and evaluated together with Booli and some of its partners from different aspects. The results are presented together with a discussion and possible future improvements. Overall the prototype implementation satisfies the demands stated by Booli, even though some improvements are suggested.

    Abstract [en]

    We find that the most stable fullerene isomers, C-70-C-94, form efficiently in close-to central collisions between keV atomic ions and weakly bound clusters of more than 15 C-60-molecules. We observe extraordinarily high yields of C-70 and marked preferences for C-78 and C-84. Larger even-size carbon molecules, C-96-C-180, follow a smooth log-normal (statistical) intensity distribution. Measurements of kinetic energies indicate that C-70-C-94 mainly are formed by coalescence reactions between small carbon molecules and Coo, while C-n with n andgt;= 96 are due to self-assembly (of small molecules) and shrinking hot giant fullerenes.

Thisbehavior may be due to even-odd variations in the sequences of dimer ionization energies as calculated with anelectrostatic model including an electrical fullerene-fullerene contact at the 19a0 center-center separation in͓C60͔2+. Prompt dissociations predominantly yield intact fullerenes ͓C60͔2r+ → C60r1+ + C60r2+ in the same͑r1 = r2, even r͒ or nearby ͑r1 = r2 ± 1, odd r Ͼ 1͒ charge states.

    Abstract [en]

    The authors find even-odd variations as functions of r (...+[C60]2(r+)([C60C70](r+)) electron-transfer collisions. This even-odd behavior is in sharp contrast to the smooth one for fullerene monomers and may be related to even-odd effects in dimer ionization energies in agreement with results from an electrostatic model. The kinetic energy releases for dimer dissociations [predominantly yielding intact fullerenes [C60]2(r+)-->C60(r1+)+C60(r2+) in the same (r1=r2) or nearby (r1=r2+/-1) charge states] are found to be low in comparison with the corresponding model results indicating that internal excitations of the separating (intact) fullerenes are important. Experimental appearance sizes for the heavier clusters of fullerenes [C60]n(r+) (n>3 and r=2-5) compare well with predictions from a new nearest-neighbor model assuming that r unit charges in [C60]n(r+) are localized to r C60 molecules such that the Coulomb energy of the system is minimized. The system is then taken to be stable if (i) two (singly) charged C60 are not nearest neighbors and (ii) the r C60(+) molecules have binding energies to their neutral nearest neighbors which are larger than the repulsive energies for the (r-1) C60(+)-C60(+) pairs. Essential ingredients in the nearest-neighbor model are cluster geometries and the present results on dimer stabilities.

    Logistics is a complex subject encompassing both military and civilian aspects.Logistics is a current word in society today and appears in many different contexts.The purpose of this essay is to describe the similarities and differences between thelogistic functions of Russia, Sweden and NATO, with reference to; the purpose anddefinition, the components of logistic functions and the connection between thecomponents. In this essay, only military logistics at strategic and operational levelshave been studied.In this study, a “system theory” has been used. These theories have a central aim andfrom this aim, components that have a connection to the central aim have beenstudied. Furthermore, the connection between the components and the central aim hasbeen investigated. In this essay, the central aim is the logistic function and thecomponents are; the definition and purpose, components that are a part of the logisticfunction and the organisation between the logistic function and the components. Theused method is a qualitative method in order to achieve a deeper understanding of theproblem.Data was examined by reading and analysing literature and by interviewing peoplewho have a connection with the matter of logistic functions.The general result of this essay is; that the NATO definition is used in internationalmissions today and EU has adopted the same definition and procedures. TodaySweden has no definition of logistics, but work has started and the proposal is toadopt NATO´s definition. In Russia the definition of logistics is wider and more away of thinking about how troops and operations will be able to get vital force andaccomplish practicability.The logistic components in NATO are the components that are needed to solve thedefinition and purpose. In Russia several logistic components are included because ofthe wider definition and purpose of the logistic function. Sweden is looking for a newdefinition. In this work there is talk of including the same logistic components asthose of NATO.The organisation concerned with logistic components in Russia is a strong one, withconnections from the highest to the lowest organisation level. The structure of theorganisation is similar the whole way, which provides clarity in the organisation andin the command and control aspect. NATO, also an organisation, has created staff forthe specific tasks or missions. All the logistic components, which are needed in aparticular task or mission, have specific staff. Sweden is looking for a way oforganisation and command and control to have in the future logistic function. Thestarting point for this work is the structure of NATO together with the generalstructure of organisation and command in the Swedish military defence.

    Electron transfer and fragmentation in fullerene collisions2005Doctoral thesis, comprehensive summary (Other academic)
    Abstract [en]

    In this thesis, we present results from detailed gas phase studies of intrinsic properties of fullerenes (C60) and clusters of fullerenes as probed by slow multiply charged (atomic or cluster) ions in combination with coincidence time-of-flight mass spectrometry. We have investigated the structures, stabilities, and the electron mobilities of multiply charged clusters of fullerenes, (C60)nr+ (r=2-5). We found that the (C60)nr+ cluster ions are weakly bound by van der Waals forces and the electric conductivity is high in strong contrast to the typical characteristics of other van der Waals type clusters and fullerene crystals (fullerite), where the charge is strongly localized. The high charge mobility was rationalized within the framework of a novel classical static over-the-barrier model for two conducting spheres used to describe multiple charge transfer processes between two neighboring fullerenes in the cluster. The model results showed that electron transfer is possible as soon as the C60-C60 system is charged, consistent with earlier experimental results from slow C60q+ + C60 collisions where an electric contact is established (during the very short interaction time of the collision) between the two molecules at distances outside the binding distance in the C60-C60 system. The present electrostatic model was also used to guide the interpretation of the measured kinetic energy releases in the fragmentation of multiply charged dimers, (C60)2r+ → C60r1+ + C60r2+.

    In like manner, we have measured kinetic energy releases in the break-ups of multiply charged monomer fullerene ions with the aid of fragment-ion momentum spectroscopy. This yielded an excellent platform for investigations of the projectile and target dependencies on various intrinsic features such as the ultimate Coulomb stability limits for C60r+ and C70r+ ions, competition between different reaction pathways, and multi-fragmentation processes. The experimental results for the stability limits for multiply charged fullerenes are discussed in view of recent high level Density Functional Theory calculations of C60r+ → C58(r-1)+ + C2+ transition states and our electrostatic model.

    The Density Functional Theory results are also used to check the validity and limitations of the classical model regarding the description of fragmentation processes, while a comparison with advanced molecular dynamic calculations of Ar8++Na40 collisions were made for investigating its applicability for charge transfer processes. We found that the present model indeed is useful for describing main features in inherent complex molecular processes at sufficiently low collision velocities. In addition, we propose an extension of the present model to consider two dielectric spheres immersed in a dielectric medium, which might be applied also outside the cluster research field.

These studies reveal how the projectile charge, mass, and velocity may be tuned to investigate, e.g., the stabilities of multiply charged monomers and clusters, different monomer and cluster cooling processes, molecular heating by Coulomb explosions of highly charged clusters, and impulse driven molecular growth processes.

    The branching ratio between ammonia loss and NCα bond cleavage of singly charged microsolvated peptides after electron capture from cesium depends on the solvent molecule attached. Density functional calculations reveal that for [GA+H]+(CE) (G=glycine, A=alanine, CE=crown ether), the singly occupied molecular orbital of the neutral radical is located mainly on the amide group (see picture).

    The results from an experimental study of bare and microsolvated peptide monocations in high-energy collisions with cesium vapor are reported. Neutral radicals form after electron capture from cesium, which decay by H loss, NH3 loss, or NCα bond cleavage into characteristic z. and c fragments. The neutral fragments are converted into negatively charged species in a second collision with cesium and are identified by means of mass spectrometry. For protonated GA (G=glycine, A=alanine), the branching ratio between NH3 loss and NCα bond cleavage is found to strongly depend on the molecule attached (H2O, CH3CN, CH3OH, and 18-crown-6 ether (CE)). Addition of H2O and CH3OH increases this ratio whereas CH3CN and CE decrease it. For protonated AAA ([AAA+H]+), a similar effect is observed with methanol, while the ratio between the z1 and z2 fragment peaks remains unchanged for the bare and microsolvated species. Density functional theory calculations reveal that in the case of [GA+H]+(CE), the singly occupied molecular orbital is located mainly on the amide group in accordance with the experimental results.

    We present analytical solutions for the interaction energies between a static point charge and a metal- or a dielectric sphere. These solutions include polarization effects to infinite orders in the inverse of the distance between the point charge and the spheres. Further, we present Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations of interaction energies for a point charge in ranges of fixed positions outside a neutral or a singly charged C-60 molecule. Based on these DFT results, we conclude that the metal sphere model describes the electronic response of the C60 molecule much better than the dielectric sphere model. These findings are particularly important for calculations of energy barriers for charge transfer in reactions involving C60 molecules. The metal- and dielectric models should further be useful for descriptions of, for example, the polarizabilities of and interactions with conducting and insulating spherical clusters or particles.

    We find that the most stable fullerene isomers, C-70-C-94, form efficiently in close-to central collisions between keV atomic ions and weakly bound clusters of more than 15 C-60-molecules. We observe extraordinarily high yields of C-70 and marked preferences for C-78 and C-84. Larger even-size carbon molecules, C-96-C-180, follow a smooth log-normal (statistical) intensity distribution. Measurements of kinetic energies indicate that C-70-C-94 mainly are formed by coalescence reactions between small carbon molecules and Coo, while C-n with n >= 96 are due to self-assembly (of small molecules) and shrinking hot giant fullerenes.

    Abstract [en]

    We have measured total and coincident (with outgoing charge-state analyzed projectiles) ionization and fragmentation spectra of C60 and C70 following collisions with Xe4+ and Kr4+ at v = 0.06 a.u. Intact positive fullerene ions in charge states up to five (C605+ and C705+) are produced with both projectiles and for Kr4++C70 collisions we even observe a small C706+ peak. The C60/70-2m3+ (m=1–7) intensity distributions are predominantly associated with the stabilization of three electrons on the projectile (s=3) and are significantly different for Xe4+- and Kr4+-projectiles. On the other hand, we find remarkable similarities in the C3+-C11+ multi-fragmentation pattern regardless of projectile species (mass) although they are associated with closer encounters in which the projectile is fully neutralized (s=4). Simple Monte Carlo calculations of nuclear and electronic loss processes show that both these contributions are very similar in glancing Xe4++C60 and Kr4++C60 collisions, suggesting that frontal (and more violent) collisions are strongly suppressed under the present experimental conditions. Nevertheless it is surprising that the more distant collisions (s=3) are projectile mass dependent, while the closer collisions (s=4) are not. This indicates that this simple approach (although it reproduces more advanced quantum mechanical calculations for slow collisions with singly charged atomic ions rather well) is not valid for a comprehensive description of the energy transfer processes in the present collision systems involving projectiles of higher charge states.

    We report highly selective covalent bond modifications in collisions between keV alpha particles and van der Waals clusters of C-60 fullerenes. Surprisingly, C-119(+) and C-118(+) are the dominant molecular fusion products. We use molecular dynamics simulations to show that C-59(+) and C-58(+) ions-effectively produced in prompt knockout processes with He2+-react rapidly with C-60 to form dumbbell C-119(+) and C-118(+). Ion impact on molecular clusters in general is expected to lead to efficient secondary reactions of interest for astrophysics. These reactions are different from those induced by photons.

    Abstract [en]

    In this work, we show that keV-ions are able to remove single carbon atoms from individual fullerenes in clusters of C-60 molecules. This very efficiently leads to the formation of exotic q dumbbell molecules through secondary C-59(+) - C-60 collisions within the fragmenting cluster. Such molecular fusion processes are inherently different from those induced by photons where only products with even numbers of carbon atoms are observed. Thus, ion collisions ignite unique and hitherto overlooked secondary reactions in small aggregates of matter. This relates to the question on how complex molecules may form in e.g. space.

    Abstract [en]

    The objective of this study was to examine whether the final price of an apartment with the size of one-room and two-rooms in the Stockholm downtown area is affected of a sale before ordinary viewing. Further on we wanted to take part of how sellers, buyers and real esate agents is thinking during the process.  To obtain answers to our questions we performed a great quantitative analysis and a qualitative examination. The quantitative analysis was accomplished by comparing apartments that were sold before ordinary viewing to apartments that were sold after ordinary viewing. The qualitative examination consisted by interviews with sellers, buyers and real estate agents.  The result showed that two thirds of the apartments that were sold before ordinary viewing generated a higher final price per square meter, than the comparison objects. The average price per square meter was 104 534 SEK compared to 103 072 SEK. It turned our that the buyers acted like they did, because they believed that they saved money by buying before an ordinary viewing. Seen through the sellers´ perspective the most important part was to have a good contact with the real estate agent, to make sure they did a good affair. What mattered the most for the real estate agent was that the seller would be pleased and satisfied with the transaction.

    "1900-talets sista decennium har gått i historiens tecken" skriver Klas-Göran Karlsson (1998 s 212). Till exempel har historia och historien fått uppsving i litteraturen, filmer, media, debatter m.m. Men inom skolans värld har ämnet fått stå tillbaka för andra ämnen, vilket 2007 kommer att ändras. Historia införs som ett kärnämne i den svenska gymnasieskolan. I och med att Historia införs som kärnämne i gymnasieskolan blir det fortsatt viktigt att belysa vilka intentioner styrdokumenten har med ämnet historia och vilka kunskapsuppfattningar som ämnet förmedlar. Men också i vilken utsträckning dessa intentioner realiseras i den faktiska undervisningen.

    Abstract [en]

    This essay is a qualitative study of the Swedish joint-stock company Svenska Spel AB’s television commercial from 2008. The commercial is called “Spela lagom - When I grow up”, and is meant to serve as an informational commercial about being underaged in situations regarding gambling. Using semiotics and rhetoric’s, we are analyzing how elements seen in the commerical affects the rhetorical situation the clip is bound to; how the marketing is done to enhance Svenska Spel’s brand; and what strategies are used to make sure the public service announcements regarding persons involved with underage gambling gets acceptance. The results show that arguments using pathos and ethos are used widely in this commercial, to enhance the feeling of responsibility from Svenska Spel. Another conclusion drawn is that the context, together with visual language known to the underaged, makes this commercial fit that target group. The company integrates with the theory of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and by this commercial they show the viewer’s their ideology about the importance of responsibility.
