Den fysiska arbetsmiljön i förskolan: utveckling, användning och granskning av en riskbedömningsmodell2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The occupational environment in preschool is becoming increasingly important. Occupational injury statistics show an increased incidence of illness among employees in education, health and care. Before action can be taken to improve the working environment, a careful assessment must be made and an action plan created. To include all possible components requires a comprehensive approach. Mapping of the physical work in Hudiksvall Municipality at all preschools provides a means by which to get an overall picture of risk areas within the preschool staff work environment.

The aim of this work is to describe how the risk assessment model was developed and used with the ambition that it can be used in other municipalities. The model has been tested in Hudiksvall, on two occasions, in 2005 and 2010. The findings from the survey in 2010 are reported here and a comparison with 2005 is made.

The risk assessment model is based on a survey with open questions for preschool staff combined with observation and assessment of ergonomics and safety engineer of 11 risk areas within the physical environment of the pre-school.

The results of the survey give a clear picture of current health risks and can be used as a basis for the development of pre-school activities as well as improved maintenance of the municipal buildings. The results have also been communicated to the individual pre-schools to demonstrate their particular areas of risk.

The combination of survey and professional assessment of several risk areas has been shown to enable a quick identification of possible causes of illness among pre-school staff. To report both positive and negative environmental factors has been an advantage. The clear method of reporting has facilitated decision-making on what if any actions to take. There is a continuing need to develop this and other instruments for the work environment survey of schools, health and social care.

    Abstract [en]

Every year in Sweden there is about 24,000 head injuries due to external trauma and 30,000 strokes. A significant number may develop secondary damage because of the increased water content around the damaged brain tissue. The proposed method is to induce water flow from damaged to healthy tissue based on the theory of electroosmosis. The theory behind the electroosmosis is that a flow is induced when a voltage is applied across a medium. The theory of electroosmosis is applied in industry and called electro-osmotic dewatering (EOD) which is used as a drying technique for the dewatering of bio-materials, clays, tofu sheets and electroosmosis is also applied in clinical treatment of tumors. Several experiments were performed on brain phantoms consisting of agarose gel to examine whether the method can be used to divert water. The first experiment was done prove that a flow can be induced when a voltage is applied over the phantom. The second experiment was to investigate the relationship between the flow rate, voltage and current. The result showed linear correlation between flow rate and voltage, flow rate and current, and between the voltage and current. The literature sources and experimental results were referred to a relationship which is developed to determine the flow induced by electrical field. The work was completed with recommendations in electrode material, design and placement. The recommendations are to use plate electrodes at a current density under 25 mA/m2. Electrode placement is predetermined by Finite Element (FE) simulations of different types of injuries.

    Abstract [en]

The aim of this project is to evaluate the network security at J Bil AB. The focus will be on both social and technical issues. For the employees to be able to con-nect to remote servers and external services and perform their daily work tasks, secure connections is needed. J Bil Ab has no IT manager who actively maintains and monitors the network; rather they consult a computer company when changes and implementations are required. The projects’ goal is to identify gaps, come up with suggestions for improvement and to some extent implement so-lutions. To do this, an observation of the employees hav been made, an inter-view have been held, and several attacks on the network have been performed. Based on the data collected, it was concluded that the company has shortcom-ings in IT security. Above all, the social security appeared to have major gaps in it and that is mainly because the lack of knowledge among the employees and they have never been informed of how to manage their passwords, computers and IT issues in general. Suggestions for improvement have been given and some implementations have been performed to eliminate the deficiencies.

    Abstract [en]

In this thesis, a study of three different uses cases has been made within the field of data storage, which are as following: Cold Storage, High Performance Storage and Virtual Machine Storage. The purpose of the survey is to give an overview of commercial distributed file systems and a deeper study of open source codes distributed file systems in order to find the most optimal solution for these use cases. Within the study, previous works concerning performance, data protection and costs were an-alyzed and compared in means to find different functionalities (snapshotting, multi-tenancy, data duplication and data replication) which distinguish modern distributed file systems. Both commercial and open distributed file systems were examined. A cost estimation for commercial and open distrib-uted file systems were made in means to find out the profitability for these two types of distributed file systems. After comparing and analyzing previous works, it was clear that the open source distributed file sys-tem Ceph was proper as a solution in accordance to the objectives that were set for High Performance Storage and Virtual Machine Storage. The cost estimation showed that it was more profitable to im-plement an open distributed file system. This study can be used as guidance to choose between different distributed file systems.

Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Åtta styckare deltog i studien.

Year)), 15 credits / 22,5 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Projektörer kan minska risken för arbetsskador2012In: VVS-Forum, ISSN 0346-4644, no 3, p. 72-73Article in journal (Other (popular science, discussion, etc.))
    Abstract [sv]

Scania AB owns the complex test systems that generate complex and large amounts of data. To take advantage of this data, it must be stored in a suitable database, de-pending on the data type. One of these test systems is Hardware-In-the-Loop which tests electrical system and produces large amounts of electrical signals. The data of these electrical signals will be saved in the form of JSON files. In the current system, these data are stored and visualized in an inefficient manner. The purpose of this study was to investigate 4 relevant databases that can handle JSON files. The second part of this work was to visualize signals in the web brow-ser.Results of investigations show that two databases were more qualified to replace the current database. CouchDB and PostgreSQL was a test-item to measure their performance in terms of response time in relation to file size and the number of signals. Results of the tests show that CouchDB has higher performance for retrieving data than PostgreSQL. Then, a prototype was developed in order to visualize the signals in the web browser.

    Abstract [en]

The goal with this bachelor thesis was to develop an application with an algorithm to measure the rotation speed of a prototype, as a low-cost solution for measuring spirometry with a smartphone. In a pilot study it was investigated how a smartphone can be used to measure health and what algorithms there are to detect motion in videos. After the pilot study an app with the function to record a video by using the camera of a smartphone and then use an algorithm to detect the rotation speed in the spirometry-prototype’s turbine was developed. To make it work it is important that the rotation speed is low enough so it does not exceed half of the cameras fps. Therefore, to capture the rotation speed of the spirometry-prototype’s turbine the rotation needs to be limited and a smartphone with a camera with at least 120 fps is required. The result of this work is an algorithm that can measure the rotation speed in the spirometry prototype turbine. The algorithm is detecting the peaks in a PPG. To minimize the computation time and to increase the accuracy the algorithm analyses the colour intensity over a ROI in every frame. There is great potential to use this algorithm to further develop this alternative method of measuring spirometry.

    Abstract [en]

The Mandometer® Method helps people with eating disorders by teaching them how to eat ina ”correct” way by training with a product called Mandometer®. The users learn the correcteating behavior by receiving feedback from the display on the Mandometer® handheldcomputer on whether they eat too fast or too slow during the meal. Mando Group AB, thecompany which has developed the Mandometer® Method, has also created a computerprogram that works as a simulation of a meal with the Mandometer®. The purpose of thisstudy was to examine if training with the simulation could give the same effect as trainingwith Mandometer®. By letting a group of healthy testpersons practice with the simulationduring three weeks a result was given which clearly showed that the eating behavior of thetest persons had changed in the desired direction. The result indicates that there is a possibilityto add the simulation to the Mandometer® Method in the future. However, more testing anddeveloping of the program is first required. To improve Mandometer® further, a new version of the product has been developed wherethe handheld computer has been replaced by a cellphone and its functions by anapplication. The functionality and usability of the application was tested with the methodcognitive walkthrough, which showed that most of the pages of the application maintaineda high standard. With some adjustment of the pages where the usability was low, theapplication should be able to replace the old version of Mandometer® in the future.

    Abstract [en]

Development of technology constantly creates new opportunities but it can also mean major chang-es for companies and organizations. Today phones, tablets, laptops, mobile communications and cloud technology make it possible to be no longer bound by the time, location or device in order to work. The change means that a new office type that is more flexible and space efficient due to no fixed workplaces, is becoming more common. A problem with this type of offices that are known as flex-offices is that it is not obvious where or when a colleague is in the office, especially if it is large office with multiple floors.

The aim of this work is to develop and implement a Location-Based Service for the company Connecta AB. The service will enable users to use their mobile phone to share their current workplace location in an office environment.

The result of this work is a Location-Based Service that enables a user to use an Android phone with support for Near Field Communcication to share their current workplace position. The cloud-based server solution, Windows Azure is used to store indexed workplace positions.

    Abstract [en]

Since 1994, the Public Procurement Act has undergone changes aimed to improve the procurement process and promoting innovation. In order to promote innovation there are a number of government agencies that offer financial assistance, especially to small business with innovative ideas. Despite these efforts, newly established small businesses have difficulties entering the market.

The study investigates whether changes have been made in the public procurement of medical devices with regard to price and quality prioritization. The priority criteria is presented by the contracting authority as percentage in the allocation criteria. The study is limited to in vitro diagnostic products contracting in Swedish healthcare between the years 2009 and 2015. All tenders, companies that apply for participation in procurement, were analyzed based on sales, number of employees and year of establishment with the purpose of evaluating differences between winning tenders and other tenders.

The result shows that prioritization has been increasingly on price rather than the quality. Regarding the winning tenders the study shows that larger, more established companies dominates the market. Noteworthy is that this dominance has increased over theses last years. The increase may be due to a spiral effect that is created when winning tenders get an increased economic power.

Mandometer® is a medical device, which assists patients with overweight and eating disorders to normalize their eating beahavior. Mandometer® has been developed by Mando Group AB and is used on Mandometer- and Mandolean Clinics in Sweden, USA and Australia in their treatment. A new version of Mandometer® has been recently developed, from generation four to generation five. It consists of a light scale and a mobile app, instead of a scale and a computer.  No previous study about the usability of the new version has been done. On behalf of Mando Group AB has such an evaluation been executed using questionnaires and conversations with both patients and healthy individuals. The results have been compiled and analyzed, and based on this a conclusion has been drawn. The usability is sufficient, but there are some deficiencies. This can be fixed by the suggested improvements and the written instruction manual. The result also shows that the development of the product is a clear improvement compared to the previous version.

    Abstract [en]

Swedish employers are obliged by law to systematically plan, direct and control activities so that the working environment meets the prescribed requirements. However, evidence indicates that this work is not performed satisfactorily in many schools. This case study aims at mapping out and clarifying how measures towards planning, directing and controlling activities are organized in two public compulsory schools.

The overall purpose of the study is to shed light on elements and conditions that hinder a successful implementation of work environment measures. Our main research questions are: Does the way the municipalities have organized the working environment measures reach the requirements in the law and how controls and follow-ups are performed. Data was collected through the municipalities’ steering documents together with a survey in combination with follow-up interviews with key figures.

Results show that the working environment measures in both schools are organized and performed in similar ways and that the problems reported to a large extent are the same. The unanimous picture shows an organization that is not capable of identifying and handling all important risks. Conclusions from the study indicate that there is a lack of knowledge concerning working environments measures on all levels in the organizations.

    Abstract [en]

The open-plan offices at Boliden has been renovated. The company wanted an evaluation of what the employees thought about the physical work environment in the new offices. The company also wanted the study to present improvement for deficiencies in the physical environment.

The aim of this study was to identify positive and negative aspects of the physical working environment factors and to identify correlation between the physical work environment factors and job satisfaction, productivity and stress. A second purpose was also to present some improvement for the physical work environment. A part of the questionnaire was to evaluate if there existed any difference between the sexes regarding the physical work environment. To examine these aspects this study used a questionnaire as well a system group seminar to develop possible improvements.

The results from the questionnaire show that the employees were pleased with the ventilation, the furniture’s functionality and the aesthetics of the office. The questionnaire also found dissatisfaction with glare, outlook and temperature but mostly the audial privacy in the office.

Previous studies have shown that there is a correlation between physical work environment factors, job satisfaction and productivity but inconsistent evidence for work environment and stress. This study showed significant relationship between the auditory privacy, job satisfaction and productivity but not between auditory privacy and stress, which corresponds to the previous studies.

The improvements presented at the system group seminar was to introduce guidelines to reduce noise and divide the office into smaller offices. To improve the auditory privacy this study suggests that a combination of redeploying employees in the open-plan office, dividing the office in to smaller office areas and introduces guidelines of how the employees should behave in the open-plan office.

    Abstract [en]

Internet of Things develops and grows constantly. It becomes increasingly common that applications and units are connected through a network. One of the technologies used for wirelessly linking together units is Bluetooth Low Energy. Preferences for the quality of a connection can vary. It is therefore important to conduct measurements of performance in order to know advantages and disadvantages that a networking technology has.

This thesis is about measurements of performance during data transfers between mobile devices and wireless sensors, as well as monitoring parameters that are given during the measurements. One method using monitoring packets inspired from previously made research, were designed and implemented in a system for Bluetooth Low Energy, which was then evaluated.

The result was that two systems were created that presented data loss, delay variation and throughput, continuously on a mobile device. One system used the method with monitoring packets. The other system used a self-made method which made measurements with high precision, but that places higher demands on functions and performance of the sensor node, and on the mobile device. Experiments were conducted by using the systems and resulting values were analyzed.

Analys av resursbehovet per patient på akutmottagningen vid Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset Solna2016Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The staff of the emergency department at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset Solna has in recent years experienced a higher workload, although the number of patients has not increased. Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset do not possess a set method to analyze the resource needs of different patient groups, and the difference between them. The project would thus give Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset a better understanding of different patients' resource needs in the form of a resource consumption model. This model was created through discussions with staff and analysis of data from Karolinska's internal data warehouse, Karda. From this a patient group distribution was created with the aim of grouping patients with similar resource needs. Time studies and surveys were conducted and compiled at the emergency department to generate important information. Analysis of the results obtained suggests that patients have, in recent years, become more ill and therefore more costly for the hospital. A resource consumption model has been created which can analyze and compare the patients' burden of care with one another by three parameters. These are priority and monitoring, period of residence and on-call salary increment. However, this model is not currently able to analyze all parameters simultaneously, only individually. In order to analyze parameters simultaneously the model and calculations would need to be revised. This could be a continuous study for further work in this specific area.

    Abstract [en]

    Abstract [en]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Utvärdering av Självstyrandes-utvecklarramverket2016Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Within software engineering there is a diversity of process methods where each one has its specific purpose. A process method can be described as being a repeatable set of step with the purpose to achieve a task and reach a specific result. The majority of process methods found in this study are focused on the software product being developed. There seems to be a lack of process methods that can be used by software developers for there individual soft- ware process improvement. Individual software process improvement, refers to how the in- dividual software developer chooses to structure their own work with the purpose to obtain a specific result

The Self-Governance Developer Framework (also called SGD-framework) whilst writing this is a newly developed process framework with the purpose of aiding the individual soft- ware developer to improve his own individual software process. Briefly explained the framework is intended to contain all the activities that can come up in a software project. The problem is that this tool has not yet been evaluated and therefore it is unknown if it is relevant for its purpose. To frame and guide the study three problem questions has been for- mulated (1) Is the framework complete for a smaller company in regards to it activities? (2) How high is the cost for the SGD-framework in regard of time?

The goal of the study is to contribute for future studies for the framework by performing an action study where the Self-Governance Developer Framework is evaluated against a set of chosen evaluation criteria.

An inductive qualitative research method was used when conducting the study. An induc- tive method means that conclusions are derived from empirically gathered data and from that data form general theories. Specifically, the action study method was used. Data was gathered by keeping a logbook and also time logging during the action study. To evaluate the framework, some evaluation criteria was used which were (1) Completeness, (2) Se- mantic correctness, (3) Cost. A narrative analysis was conducted over the data that was gathered for the criteria. The analysis took the problem formulations in regard.

The results from the evaluation showed that the framework was not complete with the re- gards of the activities. Although next to complete as only a few activities were further needed during the action study. A total of 3 extra activities were added over the regular 40 activities. Around 10% of the time spent in activities were in activities outside of the Self- Governance Developer Framework. The activities were considered to finely comminute for the context of a smaller company. The framework was considered highly relevant for im- proving the individual software developers own process. The introduction cost in this study reflect on the time it took until the usage of the framework was considered consistent. In this study it was approximately 24 working days with a usage about 3.54% of an eight-hour work day. The total application cost of usage of the framework in the performed action study was on average 4.143 SEK/hour or 662,88 SEK/month. The template cost used was on 172.625 SEK/hour.

Utveckling av ett multisensorsystem för falldetekteringsanordningar2016Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Accidental falls among the elderly is a major public health problem. As a result, a variety of systems have been developed for remote monitoring of the elderly to permit early detection of falls. The majority of the research that has been done so far in fall accidents has focused on developing new more successful algorithms spe- cifically to identify fall from non-fall. Although the statistics show that mortality and injuries caused by falls are increasing every year in conjunction with the in- creasing proportion of older people in the population.

This thesis is about improving the current fall detection devices by covering the gaps and meet the needs of the current fall detection techniques. The improve- ments that have been identified is to provide a secure assessment of the patient's health and be able to call for aid more quickly when a fall occurs. Another im- provement is the mobility for the elderly to be outdoors and have the ability to per- form daily activities without being limited by the location position.

In summary it can be said that a multisensor system in form of a prototype has been designed to cover the deficiencies and improvements that have been identi- fied. Apart from detection of falls and body movements through an accelerometer sensor the prototype does also include a sensor for detecting vital signs in form of ECG. It also supports cellular and wireless network communication in form of GPRS and Wi-Fi to enable freedom of movement for the elderly. Furthermore, the prototype includes a sensor for GPS that provides information about location position.

    Abstract [en]

The risk analysis tool failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) that analyzes the com-ponents and signals of a electrical system is design dependent and are therefore per-formed late in the development process of electrical systems. This could lead to that some errors are not analyzed in time and may need to be designed away which can lead to increased system complexity as well as longer and more expensive development proc-esses.The objective of this study is that through a literature review identify if there are any methods or approaches that enables Scania to implement a functional hazard analyzes early in the development process of electrical systems and to analyze these. The results of this thesis shows that it is possible to start the FMEA process early in the development process of the electrical system if the engineers have a functional perspec-tive in mind when performing the risk analysis where they list and rank the functions that is provided by the electrical system and their failure modes, failure effects, failure de-tection, severity, probability and occurrence.By using a function based FMEA, the engineer(s) can identify and promptly handle the safety critical functions early in the development process of a electrical system.A existing functionality at Scania has been broken down into functions and a functional hazard analysis has been performed on these as a demonstration of how a function based FMEA can be carried out and look like.

    Abstract [en]

As the opening of emergency hospital Nya Karolinska Solna approaches, a data warehouse for vital signs is being designed. The system is referred to as T5 and the intention is to allow collected medical data to follow the patient throughout the entire hospital stay.

Before the procurement of the system there is a need for a review of legal frameworks, standards and guidelines applicable to T5. The project was carried out through research of documents and interviews with professionals involved with subjects relevant to the project. As a final product, a recommendation on how the standards and legal frameworks could be applied to the system was compiled.

Project results show that if data managed in T5 is aimed to be used in a medical purpose, the system qualifies as a medical device. Furthermore, the system should be classified according to hazard class I, assuming that the information in T5 will not be used for real time monitoring of patient conditions.

Ergonomiskt Burklock: en produktutvecklingsprocess av skruvlock för glasburkar2010Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Styckares arbetsmiljö: En studie om knivskärpa, olika knivstålskvaliteter, arbetssätt, samt fysisk ansträngning2011Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

The software testing team at Scania use a manual and time consuming process to restore a test vehicle after working with it. Several different applications are used in this process to ensure the vehicle is in the same state as it was before their testing. To improve the workflow with a reduced workload and a more robust process, the test team was interested in the development of a restoration application. It was desired to develop the restoration application by reusing the components to the greatest possible extend. Since there were many components that fulfilled the needs of most functions, a pre-study of all the applications was done to decide which components can be re-used. This was study was based on the integration model, Enterprise Application Integration, which aims to create a single product combining the applications used in an organization to simplify processes such as maintenance, data management and employee training. A prototype was developed which implements three existing modules on different levels and, in line with the goals of EAI, is itself a simple application that enables the components to work in unision

Videoanalys av sekvenser i ishockey där en tackling resulterat i hjärnskakning2017Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

There is a major issue with concussion within contact sports and one of these sports is ice hockey. Concussions have a negative effect on health and repeated concussions, which often occur in ice hockey, can force players to retire early. Since it is such a major problem that can result in serious consequences, a better understanding within the field is needed. This report has focused on speeds right before a player was tackled as well as the players contact body parts. The information was collected by analyzing 10 video clips where a tackle took place that resulted in a concussion. The video clips were analyzed using the software SkillSpector, where 3D speeds were collected for both the attacking and the injured players. The contact body parts were also identified during the analysis. The results were compared to a reference group from an earlier bachelor degree project where tackles that did not result in a concussion were analyzed. The conclusion from this project is that the speeds for the players in the interest group were proven to have a significantly higher mean speed than the players from the earlier project. Furthermore, the results indicate that the tackled players speed can have a larger impact on the outcome of the tackle than the speed of the attacking player. From the results in this project it is shown that, of the tackles that could lead to a concussion, shoulder to jaw was the most common combination.

Prestandautvärdering av permanentmagnetmotor2014Independent thesis Basic level (university diploma), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The project was to evaluate a synchronous three-phase permanent magnet motor with brushless outrunner. It is supposed to be a part of an electric drive system for equipment onboard sailing boats. The goal was to investigate the performance of the motor and find the construction weaknesses and to come up with suggestions how to optimize the performance of the motor.

Tests and measurements were made with a test setup that consisted of inverter, motor and a generator connected to the shaft. The generator stator winding had a short circuit when the load current reached 106,1 A and the tests therefore had to end. The copper wire used in the windings temperature became to high and the isolation of the wire melted.  The tests showed that the motor could handle up to 92,1 A with an efficiency of 70%. It was how much current the winding could withstand together with the power losses that was the limiting factor of the motor construction.

Forced cooling with water cooled stator or improving the winding wires ability to handle higher currents by increasing the cable area are both alternatives to get a better efficiency and motor performance.

Spårning av skelettala strukturer på 4D-CT2013Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The technical development of computed tomography (CT) with faster image collection frequencies and lower radiation dose while maintaining or increasing spatial and tissue-specific resolution, has enabled timeresoluted dynamic CT for the study of body parts in motion.

The development of this technology has come to the attention of the supervisors at the Karolinska Institute and the Royal Institute of Technology. They were interested to investigate the possibility of using today´s technology to calculate the kinematics of skeletal foot segments, based on a dynamic CT collection of a human foot. Thus a method to detect, extract and track landmarks in sequences of 3-dimensional (3D) volumes, and the description of foot kinematics during plantarflexion and dorsiflexion was developed in this thesis.

The developed method intended to automatically track skeletal foot segments and calculate their relative movement and rotation in the frontal, sagittal and transverse plane. A program was developed using commercially available software that isolated a selected skeletal segment and detected its landmarks. The automatic landmark detection useful for tracking needs further development and therefore complementary manual detection was performed. These landmarks were used to calculate the kinematics by tracking individually created local coordinate system for each structure. As an example the maximum rotation stated between calcaneus and talus was 51 degrees within the sagittal plane. The thesis illustrates methods used and presents the developed program and all the results of the individual and relative motion of the calcaneus and talus. The method used in this thesis has a good future potential with possibilities to visualize and calculate normal and pathological musculoskeletal motion.

Metod för automatiserad sammanfattning och nyckelordsgenerering2016Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The company Widespace handles hundreds of tasks (tickets) per week, which requires great overview by each employee. Because of this quantity, creating a clear view becomes a major problem. To solve this problem, a more consistent use of metadata is required, therefore, a study of metadata, automated summary and key words generation has been performed.

The task was to develop a prototype that can automatically generate a summary, a list of keywords and give an indication of what language the text is written in. It was also included in the work to make a survey of earlier works to see which systems and methods that can be used for this task. Two prototypes were developed, compared with each other and evaluated. The methods used were based on both statistical and linguistic processes. Analysis of the results was done and showed that the prototype MkOne delivered the best results for the summary. The keyword list contained many precise keywords with high precision and a wide coverage.

Predisponerar helium i dykgasen för arteriella bubblor?2014Conference paper (Other academic)
