    Abstract [en]

    Due to the scarcity of sources regarding actual Jewish and Muslim communities and settlements, there has until now been little work on either the perception of or encounters with Muslims and Jews in medieval Scandinavia and the Baltic Region. The volume provides the reader with the possibility to appreciate and understand the complexity of Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations in the medieval North. The contributions cover topics such as cultural and economic exchange between Christians and members of other religions; evidence of actual Jews and Muslims in the Baltic Rim; images and stereotypes of the Other.

    The volume thus presents a previously neglected field of research that will help nuance the overall picture of interreligious relations in medieval Europe.

    Abstract [en]

    This volume examines the various forms of contact between Scandinavia and the rest of Europe from 800 to 1350. It consists of twenty-five papers from international scholars specialising in archaeology, onomastics, literature, art history, epigraphy, religious history and linguistics. The volume is innovative in three respects: (i) in transcending conventional historical boundaries, by bringing together work on both the viking and medieval periods; (ii) by examining the ways in which mainland Europe influenced Scandinavia (e.g. kingship, law and social organisation; and classical and continental literary traditions); and (iii) by synthesising all the material for an English-language readership for the first time. The broader timespan of investigation illustrates the changing nature of contact and the gradual integration of Scandinavia into European society: by 1350 Scandinavia was no longer a heathen outpost on the periphery of the known world, but an integral part of Western Christendom. The cultural impact of mainland Europe on Scandinavia, frequently mediated through religious channels, although less dramatic, is shown to have had a more significant long-term impact than the earlier viking raids. The volume is structured around the following sections: Historical and Archaeological Evidence for [Scandinavian] Contact with the British Isles; Evidence for the Linguistic Impact of Scandinavian Settlement; Evidence for the Impact of Christianity on Scandinavia; Textual Evidence for Contact, Conflict, and Coexistence.

    Abstract [en]

    Shipwrecks are a key site-type for maritime archaeological research and their investigations have been prominent in the subject’s development over the last sixty years. At one time their value was often squandered, with anything from cursory surveys to total excavations being undertaken for the same reason George Mallory suggested that mountains were climbed: because they were there. Today it is recognised that the remains of wrecked ships, through their distribution in time and space, their variety and their complexity, comprise one of the richest forms of archaeological source material. This volume brings together researchers who explore the ways in which ships can be understood and interpreted as material culture through their wreck sites, focusing on ships as artefacts, as agents, as technology, as society, as ideology and as symbols, as well as on what they carried and the people who sailed on them. Collectively they show that shipwrecks are not just the preserve of nautical specialists but have wider implications for the understanding of human action and past societies.

    Abstract [en]

    Megalithic tombs that originally date back to the early to mid-neolithic are the oldest preserved monument that can be found in Scandinavia. The act of raising big stone structures for the dead shows that the monuments where build to last through time. Prehistoric people from different time periods have reused these monuments on different locations all over Europe. This paper focuses on the monuments in Sweden and it shows that the reuse of megalithic monuments appears in all regions where these monuments can be found. The different reasons to why people wanted to reuse these monuments are also discussed. The paper proposes that the reasons are religious and political. Political the monuments can give inheritance rights which granted land rights among other things.

    Abstract [en]

    My project is a “Urban building” on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. Västra Kungsholmen is an expanding area with a lot of new apartment blocks, and the stereotype habitant in the area is the young family with small kids. My intention is then to do a building for the young people in Stockholm, who need their first home. Since it is quite rare with those kind of buildings in Stockholm and on Kungsholmen.

    The building consists of five volumes surrounding a core. In the five volumes there are apartments and the core is the common spaces, that will be shared among the people living in the house. The building has a passage thorough the building for both the ones living in the house and people who wants to take a shortcut through the house to get to the park.

    Abstract [en]

    The purpose of this study is to examine how individual singing lessons for high school students differ depending on to which extent the vocal coach is driven by their own interests concerning genre. The study is based on four semi-structured interviews where two vocal coaches have their home turf in classical music, and two vocal coaches have their home turf within the african american genres. The study is of comparative nature where the focus is on eventual similarities and differences between vocal coaches’ viewpoints within the two genres. The theoretical perspective of the study takes its stand in the socio cultural perspective and how cultural tools and surroundings affect teaching and learning.The result of the study shows that the vocal coaches have more conformed opinions than they have conflicting ones when it concerns informed choices in genre, how their own interests affect their teaching and the views on the curriculum in relation to the lesson and its content. The interviewees differ when it comes to how they plan lessons for beginners and how they themselves listen to music. In the discussion the themes that surface in the result are discussed from a socio cultural perspective. These themes are: informed and uninformed choices concerning genre, the curriculum as a tool in teaching and the teachers’ own personal interests concerning genre. The conclusion is that the different tools the vocal coaches use affect how they work in and surrounding their teaching of high school students.

    The purpose of the study is to get a deeper insight of what it means to develop a new singing technique. To study this I have practiced edge ten minutes per day during a period of four weeks, five times a week. Three of these exercices have been videotaped. I have also used a logbook to document new experiences during the process. I have a socio-cultural perspective as a theoretical base in this study. In the result the different tools that were selected show how these were handled and how the process in learning has developed. The results show that the most central tools that were used were the body, the method book, the piano chair, the wall and a song. In the discussion I describe, from a socio-cultural perspective, what the conditions have been, and which tools I have used.

    Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur läraretik definieras, motiveras och förvärvas enligt yrkesetisk litteratur för lärare och lärarstudenter. Förhoppningen är att undersökningen ska bidra till att ge kunskap om den etiska dimensionen i lärares arbete och om den kompetens lärare behöver för att kunna hantera etiska konflikter i skolans vardag.

    Uppsatsen är en kvalitativ textanalys av tre böcker om yrkesetik som används på lärarprogrammen i Sverige. Böckerna är:

    • Läraren i etikens motljus av Trygve Bergem, professor i pedagogik.

    • Lärares yrkesetik av Roger Fjellström, docent i praktisk filosofi.

    • Den värdefulla praktiken av Kennert Orlenius, fil.dr. i pedagogik och Airi Bigsten, förskollärare och

      doktorand i pedagogik.

      Böckerna analyseras utifrån följande frågor:

    • Varför finns det yrkesetik för lärare?

    • Vad innefattar lärares yrkesetik?

    • För vem är yrkesetiken bra?

    • Hur förvärvas/utvecklas yrkesetiken?

      Undersökningen visar att:

      • Skolan består av en etisk/moralisk dimension inför vilken läraren behöver god

        handlingsberedskap.

      • Introduktionen av yrkesetik bör ske under lärarutbildningen, vilket ökar möjligheten för läraren att

        tidigt utveckla sin etiska kompetens.

      • Yrkesetiken är viktig för att yrket skall ses som en profession.

    In this article childrens musical improvisation is investigated through the reflexive interaction paradigm. We used a particular system, the MIROR-Impro, implemented in the framework of the MIROR project (EC-FP7), which is able to reply to the child playing a keyboard by a reflexive output, mirroring (with repetitions and variations) her/his inputs. The study was conducted in a public primary school, with 47 children, aged 6-7. The experimental design used the convergence procedure, based on three sample groups allowing us to verify if the reflexive interaction using the MIROR-Impro is necessary and/or sufficient to improve the childrens abilities to improvise. The following conditions were used as independent variables: to play only the keyboard, the keyboard with the MIROR-Impro but with not-reflexive reply, the keyboard with the MIROR-Impro with reflexive reply. As dependent variables we estimated the childrens ability to improvise in solos, and in duets. Each child carried out a training program consisting of 5 weekly individual 12 min sessions. The control group played the complete package of independent variables; Experimental Group 1 played the keyboard and the keyboard with the MIROR-Impro with not-reflexive reply; Experimental Group 2 played only the keyboard with the reflexive system. One week after, the children were asked to improvise a musical piece on the keyboard alone (Solo task), and in pairs with a friend (Duet task). Three independent judges assessed the Solo and the Duet tasks by means of a grid based on the TAI-Test for Ability to Improvise rating scale. The EG2, which trained only with the reflexive system, reached the highest average results and the difference with EG1, which did not used the reflexive system, is statistically significant when the children improvise in a duet. The results indicate that in the sample of participants the reflexive interaction alone could be sufficient to increase the improvisational skills, and necessary when they improvise in duets. However, these results are in general not statistically significant. The correlation between Reflexive Interaction and the ability to improvise is statistically significant. The results are discussed on the light of the recent literature in neuroscience and music education.

    Abstract [en]

    My interest in Going Offline was twofold. (1) I wanted to investigate how the entrance of a new (virtual) space had affected our understanding of the concepts of space, time and body, and what this could entail for the sole individual. (2) I wanted to, in a really hands on manner, create a small bug in an otherwise well functioning, fast and effective system of communication. In other words to intervene the course of events in my everyday life to affect myself and others connected to it. Like the small stone thrown into the water creating rings (movements) on the surface, where the closest one, which is the most vigorous, influences the next one and so on. Overall I aimed to explore the sole individual’s connection to social structures and a global phenomena.

    Den här konferensen pekar på en enastående utveckling och utvecklingspotential för SMDI. Svenska med didaktisk inriktning kan numera betraktas som ett etablerat forskningsområde och har ett nära samarbete med motsvarande systerorganisationer i Danmark (Netværk for forskning i dansk-fagenes didaktik, DaDi) och Norge (Nettverk for norskdidaktisk forskning, NNDF). Konferensen i Malmö samlade 174 deltagare från de nordiska länderna och innehöll fyra plenarföredrag samt 49 sektionsföredrag, vilket visar både styrka och bredd.

    De 15 bidrag som presenteras i den här forskningsrapporten omfattar de fyra plenarföreläsningarna (av Jens Elmelund Kjeldsen, Caroline Liberg, Kathleen McCormick och Jon Smidt) samt elva av sektionsföredragen. Texterna handlar om många olika slags möten. Det kan gälla kulturella möten i det heterogena klassrummet (McCormick) eller i de nordiska kursplanernas språk- och litteraturundervisning (Hägerfelth & Skarstein). Och det kan gälla språkliga möten med lyssningens ABC (Adelmann) eller med postmoderna läromedel mellan tradition och fönyelse (Dahl). Eller mediala möten med de mediekulturella förändringarnas konsekvenser för läsreceptionen (Elmfeldt & Persson). Men även krockar, mellan mediering via PowerPoint eller retorik (Kjeldsen).

    Här finns svenskämnets territoriella utbredning i mötet med den moderna ungdomsskolan (Martinsson). Och här finns de lärarstuderandes möte med skolverkligheten (Östlundh) och elevernas möte med nationella prov i årskurs 3 (Borgström & Yassin). Eller lärarens möte med olika  skrivutvecklingsperspektiv på yrkesinrikade gymnasieprogram (Westman), seriernas potential i svenskundervisningen (Mehrstam) eller olika didaktiska läsarter (Bringéus). Och här byggs det broar mellan modersmålsskrivande och skrivande i alla andra ämnen (Smidt), och mellan en språkbaserad ämnesundervisning och en ämnesbaserad språkundervisning (Liberg). Men det varnas också för faran med bro-metaforen, som kan konstruera kulturella olikheter istället för att konstruera mening som bygger på våra likheter (Penne).

    The landmark book series Slott och herresaten i Sverige (transl. Castles and Manor Houses in Sweden), published in 1966-1971 by Allhems forlag, is still today considered the most important art historical reference work on Swedish manor buildings and country houses. The 18 volumes seem to present a near complete picture of the nation's rich heritage of manor buildings, combining the comprehensive and topographically organized guide book with the thoroughness of the architectural monograph. This paper will address the more problematic aspects of the book series, its critical role in the writing of a Swedish architectural history and in shaping a national country house narrative. While each volume provides an authoritative and concise overview of the history, ownership and stylistic development of the most significant manor buildings in the province - their architecture, interiors, gardens and collections - the presentation with its general descriptions, formal analysis and neutral tone omits a more in-depth analysis of these complex environments as well as underlying social, political and economic aspects. The descriptions have, in a sense, been working against the depth of historical understanding and the identification of more complex networks. As a consequence, the Swedish manor house is presented as a continuous and self-contained "treasure house", with the critical perspectives and broader European context very seldom present in the characterizations.

    Syfte: Syftet med den här studien är att ta reda på hur elever med svenska som andra språk, beskriver sina erfarenheter av att vara tvåspråkiga. Syftet med studien är också att ta reda på vad fördelarna respektive nackdelarna är att vara tvåspråkig i skolan.

    Metod: Undersökningsmetoden för studien är en kvalitativ metod med intervjuer av fem informanter.

    Resultat: Studien visar att elevers förhållningssätt gentemot sin tvåspråkighet är positiv. Eleverna anser att kunna två språk är en fördel samt att det leder färdigheter av förståelse av andra kulturer och kunskap i andra ämnen. Att bevara modersmålet anses också något som en viktig del av elevernas inställning till sina två språk vare sig det gäller att man förstärker den genom sin omgivning eller i undervisning. Omgivningen lägger också mycket intryck på deras tvåspråkighet, där positiva fördelarna också framhävs mer genom att eleverna aktivt använder språket med familjen, vänner och i skolan.

    Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka hur två klasslärare i årkurs 1–3 på två olika skolor samarbetar med specialpedagog/speciallärare i arbetet med elever som har lässvårigheter. Undersökningens syfte var att synliggöra det stöd klassläraren behöver för att tillämpa olika hjälpverktyg, förhållnings- och arbetssätt i sin ordinarie undervisning för att leda elever med lässvårigheter mot en god läsförmåga. För att samla in information till undersökningen valde vi att utföra kvalitativa intervjuer och undersöka läromaterial som informanterna använder i arbetet för att stödja elever med lässvårigheter. Dessa läromaterial använder informanterna i arbetet med elever som har lässvårigheter. Resultatet visar att klasslärarna på båda skolorna har ett tätt samarbete med specialpedagogen/specialläraren i arbetet med elever som har lässvårigheter. Vidare visar det även att klasslärarna tillämpar stödinsatser i sin ordinarie undervisning för att stötta elevernas läsning utifrån deras olika behov och förutsättningar. Slutsatsen är att samarbetet mellan klasslärare och specialpedagog/speciallärare är av stor betydelse då dessa stödinsatser bidrar till elevernas kunskapslärande och det skapar olika möjligheter och  anpassningar i klasslärarens undervisningsinnehåll för elever med lässvårigheter. De tillfrågade informanterna i denna undersökning anser att samarbetet skapar möjligheter för elever med lässvårigheter att utveckla en god läsförmåga och delaktighet i sitt lärande.
