    Abstract [en]

Our overall question with this study has been to understand primary school teachers work situation while working multimodal with ICT. As a method to answer our overall question we used qualitative interviews. To select our interviewees we collaborated with the municipalities IT resource centre since they have knowledge about teachers who include ICT and multimodality in their everyday practice. We have conducted three interviews with teachers and one test interview to answer our overall question. The studies result shows that the teachers are unselfish and rarely complain at their multimodal work situation and they find it difficult to mention struggles in their work with ICT. The benefits the teachers mention with working multimodal first and foremost are the student benefits; especially the students in difficulties are winners in multimodal work. The teachers considered the two biggest struggles for working multimodal with ICT lack of equipment and lack of knowledge. Key words: work situation, ICT, multimodality, teacher's perspective, primary school
