Artikeln är en betraktelse över hur Hjalmar Söderbergs roman Doktor Glas har transmedierats till film och till teater samt av hur fem författare, en engelsk och fyra svenska, har skrivit egna romaner i nära anslutning till Hjalmar Söderbergs, exempelvis i form av travesti eller pastisch.
