Abstract [en]

This study is performed at the county council in Karlstad. The purpose was to give them more knowledge if it is an economic value to replace the existing lighting to LED-lighting in theirs offices, gatherings and corridors. The county council has lots of lighting in their properties. It is even hard for them to estimate the amount of lighting. Since the county council has a big amount of lighting, they have big facilities with LED-lighting to accustom the environment with fewer emissions, and be a guide to a greener environment.The work has been divided into four parts, such as comfort benefits, energy savings, environment impacts and economy. The economic part will answer the main question if it is an economic value to replace the existing lighting to LED-lighting in theirs offices, gatherings and corridors. The three other parts are included in the work too give the county council more knowledge what they mean at an exchange to LED-lighting.To see how the LED-lighting effect peoples comfort benefits, three surveys have been written. One surveys each for corridors, office and gathering. To see if the LED-lighting affects the comfort benefits depends on what sort of room people are in. The questions on the surveys differ and depend on what sort of activity is going on in the rooms. The energy savings the county council get if they do the change has been calculated. The energy consumption for both the existing lighting and the LED-lighting are compared with each other. The environment impacts in this study include the carbon dioxide emissions from the electricity production, where the emissions are compared due to if the lighting comes from the existing lighting or the LED-lighting. The price difference between the existing lighting and the LED-lighting are compared and calculated speaking to a lifetime. The parts that are included in the price are the electricity price, installation and purchase price and the price of the difference in the heat and cooling needs.The result of this study shows that it is not worth for the county council in the current situation to get LED-lighting. The result of the surveys gave the LED-lighting good ratings. The result of the energy savings and the environment impacts shows that the county council can make big amount of energy savings and stop bid amounts of carbon dioxide to not be emitted.
