Automatic Motion Tracking (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Brain injuries are common in ice hockey and knowledge about the body and its

movement is necessary to develop safety equipment to prevent such injuries. The

velocity of the movement in collisions can be detected with motion tracking. Automatic

motion tracking can reduce the impact of error sources such as those caused by the user.

Two different Matlab programs were reconstructed to analyse the

possibilities to develop an automatic technique for motion tracking. Leonid Sigal,

scientist at Disney research Pittsburgh, has developed one of the programs for motion

tracking. It was possible to reconstruct his program and use it for selected video

sequences. Initial values for each video sequence had to be calculated to achieve

accurate motion tracking.
