Drying of dishes with a shaking stage : Investigation of shakings potential as a dish dryer (English)
Abstract [en]

The drying process of wet dishes is an energy demanding part of a dishwashers wash cycle, the reason for the high energy demand is the need to increase the dishwasher’s inner temperature. The purpose of this work is to examine the possibility to unburden the drying system with a phase that shake water of the dishes before the existing drying system takes over. The goal is be able to lower the heating temperature but still retain the drying result. Another question was to determine what specific energy consumption the new drying method uses and how effective the method is compared with the existing drying system. The study is done by executing test runs with the dishwasher all including a shaking phase to gain knowledge about what kind of shaking that gives the most desired effect. After a reconstruction of the dishwasher it turned out that some reduction of temperature was possible to achieve with an introduced shaking phase and that a lowering of the energy consumption was possible

Abstract [sv]

Torkning av disk är ett energikrävande steg i en diskmaskins diskcykel, detta då torkningen kräver en mycket kostsam höjning utav diskmaskinens innetemperatur. Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka möjligheten att avlasta torkningen med ett skakmoment som ska göra av med en betydande andel utav den vattenmängd som är fäst på disken innan diskmaskinens egna torksystem tar vid. Förhoppningen är att kunna sänka uppvärmningstemperaturen med ett bibehållet torkresultat. En annan frågeställning är vilket specifik energibehov nya torkmetoden kräver och hur pass effektiv den är i förhållande till det existerande torksystemet. Undersökningen utförs genom att utföra en rad testkörningar utav diskmaskinen med skakmoment för att få lärdom om vilken sorts skakningar som ger önskat resultat. Efter en ombyggnation utav maskinen visade sig att en sänkning utav energikonsumtionen gick att uppnå genom att komplettera diskmaskinen med ett skakmoment.
