Distriktssköterskors reflektioner av arbetsrelaterad stress på distriktssköterskemottagning: En intervjustudie

I Europa har den arbetsrelaterade psykiska belastningen ökat och i Sverige är arbetsrelaterad stress en av de vanligaste orsakerna till sjukdom. Att arbeta inom vården kan innebära stor arbetsbörda med stress. Studiens syfte var att undersöka distriktssköterskors reflektioner av arbetsrelaterad stress vid distriktssköterskemottagning på hälsocentral. Studien hade en kvalitativ ansats med beskrivande design. Sju distriktssköterskor i två kommuner i Mellansverige deltog. Data samlades in med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyserades utifrån en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Det övergripande temat var Arbetet – en kamp mot tiden som utgår från kategorierna Tidens betydelse, Språkets betydelse och Att få stöd. Det fanns flera faktorer som medförde att distriktssköterskorna kunde uppleva stress. Att få extrabesök på distriktssköterskemottagningen, tidspress att bli klar med arbetet i tid och tidsbrist vid besöken ledde till en oro och frustration. Krav om att vara uppdaterad i rutiner upplevdes svårt på grund av tidsbrist. Distriktssköterskorna var oroliga om patienterna hade förstått samtalen rätt då det fanns svårigheter att kommunicera på grund av att de talade olika språk. Vid tolksamtal reflekterade de över vilka olika kvalitéer det kunde vara på samtalen. Distriktssköterskorna reflekterade över vikten av stöd genom att kommunicera med kollegor när det var tungt på arbetet. Chefen kunde ge stöd genom att vara lyhörd och organisera om arbetet. Studiens slutsats var att distriktssköterskorna upplevde stress vid olika situationer med patienter på distriktssköterskemottagning. De ville ge en god vård till patienterna men upplevde brist på tid som ett hinder och frustration i arbetet vilket kunde leda till en inre stress.

Abstract [en]

In Europe, work-related mental stress increased, and in Sweden work-related stress is one of the most common causes of illness. Working in health care can mean big workload with stress. The aim of this study was to investigate the primary health care nurses' reflections of work-related stress at office nursing at the community health center. The study had a qualitative approach with descriptive design. Seven primary health care nurses in two municipalities in central Sweden participated. Data collection was achieved through semi-structured interviews which were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The overarching theme was Work - a race against time, based on the categories of the Future significance, Importance of language and Support. There were several factors that led to the district nurses could experience stress. To get extra office visits, time pressure to complete the work on time and lack of time during the visits led to anxiety and frustration. Requirements to be informed of the routines experienced difficult due to lack of time. Primary health care nurses were concerned about the patients had understood the calls right when there was difficulty communicating because they spoke different languages. At the interpreter calls reflected those of the different qualities it could be at the calls. Primary health care nurses reflected on the importance of support by communicating with colleagues when it was hard at work. The manager could provide support by being responsive and organize the work. The conclusion of the study was that the primary health care nurses felt stress in different situations with patients on office nursing. They wanted to give good care to patients but experienced a lack of time as a constraint and frustration at work which could lead to an internal stress.
