Abstract [en]

The main purpose of this study is to examine how social workers in the field of unaccompanied children experience how their new work situation affects their daily work in relation to quality safety, and how social workers deal with their current work situation. The study is qualitative in nature and eight social workers have been interviewed. The aim was to examine their different reasoning of how the new work situation has affected their work methods and how they handle the new demands that the workload requires of them. Through the result we found that social workers today have received a greater individual responsibility for the organization, which is too heavy for them to bear. The conditions of the organization is inadequate resulting that social workers in the field of unaccompanied children today are responsible to solve the structural problems through individual coping strategies. The work situation that these social workers have prevail conditions for client relationships, quality security, rule of law and good working environment. Important areas all of which made subject to the social services today have shortcomings in its structure.
