This survey method was used to answer the following questions; Which toys do boys and girls use in the free play at preschool? How do boys and girls use these toys in the free play? The study results illustrate that there are both similarities and differences in how boys and girls using toys. According to the results, it appears that girls and boys play more often with toys that are gender-neutral outdoors than indoors and that the traditional gender pattern is not as obvious in the outdoors environment. The expectations that is placed on boys and girls have through previous research and the results of this study proved to be important for children’s play.
