Abstract [en]

In cooperation with C&D Snickeri AB in Falköping the project group have been tasked with finding ways to assemble wood panels on the sides of a staircase, which is to be located inside a large and spacious office building. One requirement is that the fastener should not be visible from the front of the wood panel, another that it’s easy for the carpenters to install the panels on the steel construction.

The group decided to use Fredy Olsson’s method, with focus on principal construction, primary construction and manufacturing construction.

After brainstorming the group sketched several fasteners which were shown to the company who picked a solution. The project group further developed the solution in order to make it easier to adjust vertically during assembly.

The fasteners were modelled in Catia V5 after which a 3D model was generated and FEM-analysis performed to evaluate the structural viability. Construction drawings were also made in Catia V5.
