Abstract [en]

The use of AR-artefacts in workplaces is showing great potential in many areas. However, the research into opportunities with AR-artefacts for communication purposes is sparse. This study was aiming to research potential user views on the possibilities and limitations of implementing AR-artefacts into their workplaces as a media to enhance communication, education and as a supportive technology. Our thesis has showed that the greatest potential of AR-artefacts for communication purposes was as a way to complement the regular meetings to strengthen the user presence, both in face-to-face meetings and in remote meetings. It could also be a way to help people with social phobia. The limitations are mostly about mistrust towards the technology and we can see that people have high demands on the technology that will determine the will to use the AR-artefacts.
