Gaming during lesson? : A study of teacher's opinions about gaming and its possibilities in school (English)
The purpose of this essay is to examine teachers’ perception of whether games can contribute to a developed historical consciousness. Apart from studying the previous research on history didactics and games, I have also interviewed some teachers to get answers to my questions. Teachers included in this survey have an overall positive view of the game teaching tools but there are many other problems to be overcome if it is to become a reality in schools. The teachers’ own knowledge, student motivation, and the school’s infrastructure and technical aspects are all problems that exist today that prevent games to get the space needed in school. If the school can overcome these problems, games are a great tool for teachers to use and open up a new world in education.
