Abstract [sv]

Som ett led i att öka Sverige konkurrenskraftigt inom tung fordonsindustri har intressenter såsom Scania, Volvo, Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan och Chalmers Tekniska Högskola bildat ett samarbetsprojekt, Sveriges Transmissionskluster. Syftet med arbetet är att ta fram en lösning som tillåter okulär besiktning av kuggingrepp och kylolja i en kuggrigg hos Institutionen för Maskinkonstruktion vid Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan. Produktframtagningsmetoden Design for Sigma Six har applicerats utifrån kundkrav. Förslagen har modellerats med hjälp av CAD-program och utvärderats med hjälp av ANSYS och MATLAB. Resultaten visar att en befintlig gavel på kuggriggen kan ersättas med en transparent PMMA-gavel. Dock med begränsningar, avseende pålagt moment och temperatur. De lägsta egenfrekvenserna sjunker, men håller sig utanför kuggriggens driftsområde. Axelutböjningen vid gaveln ökar markant. Insynen i gaveln blir mycket god då kuggriggens skvättande olja inte beaktas. Mer utredning fordras för att klargöra projektets obesvarade frågeställningar.

Abstract [en]

In order to sustain a viable Swedish heavy motor industry several stakeholder (Volvo, Scania, KTH The Royal Institute of Technology and Chalmers) have joined forces in a joint research project, Sveriges Transmissionskluster. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the possibility to redesign a gear test rig, located at the Department of Machine Design, to allow visual observation of the gear mesh and lubrication. This thesis has applied customer requests to Design for Sigma Six in order to evaluate proposed solutions. The results show that the current gable can be substituted by a transparent PMMA-gable, albeit with restrictions relating to load and temperature. The lowest natural frequencies decrease, but continue to stay outside the speed range of the gear test rig. The shaft deflection at the PMMA-gavel increases significantly. The view through the PMMA-gavel is excellent when splashing oil is not considered. More investigation is required to clarify some of the remaining unanswered questions.
