Abstract [sv]

Denna rapport undersöker krav och förslag på förbättringar av svenska järnvägsväxlar under vintertid. En stor del av arbetet har gått ut på att identifiera problemet som existerar för att kunna definiera en lösning. Den konceptlösning som har beskrivits i denna rapport är ett andrahandsval då det första utvecklade konceptet har tagits vidare till patentsökning i skrivande stund, vilket medför att det inte får bli en officiell handling av juridisk orsak. Den lösning som presenteras har tagits fram utifrån de krav som framkommit efter att problemen med dagens växlar har identifierats. Konceptet består utav en i sidled förflyttbar skyddsplatta som kommer ligga ovanpå rälsen för att skydda från snö och is samt isolera utrymmet mellan räl och växeltunga för att befintliga värmesystem skall fungera bättre. Dimensionerna är valda för att kunna lyfta ett en meter tjockt snölager ovanpå skyddsplattan från dess mest utsträckta läge över rälsen till ett läge utanför spåret. Grafisk design av konceptet har gjorts med CAD programmet Solid edge ST3 samt att hållfastheten i konstruktionen har tagits fram med det finita element-baserade programmet ANSYS workbench. Mekaniska beräkningar har gjorts för kraftanalys utifrån lastfall med avseende på moment och tvärkrafter.

Abstract [en]

This report examines the requirements and suggestions for improvements to the Swedish railway switches during the winter. Much of the work has been directed to identify the existing problems in order to define a solution. The concept strategy outlined in this report is a secondary choice due to the first developed concept is undergoing patent examination while this report is being written. Due to legal causes the first concept can’t be mentioned in any official documentation like this report until the patent is ready. The solution presented has been developed based on the requirements that emerged after the problems with today's switches have been identified. The concept consists of a laterally movable protection plate that will be on top of the rails to protect from snow and ice and insulate the space between the rails and the point blades for the existing heating system to function better. The dimensions are chosen to be able to lift a one meter thick layer of snow on top of the cover plate from its most extended position over the rails to a position outside the track. Graphic design of the concept has been done with the CAD software Solid Edge ST3 and the solid mechanics of the structure has been developed with the finite element-based program ANSYS workbench. Mechanical calculations have been made for power analysis based on the load with respect to torque and linear forces.
