Titel:              Jämställd ledsagning? En studie om kvinnors och mäns tillgång till ledsagning i Kalmar län

Sweden has come a long way when it comes to equality between men and women, but there are still some areas that need improvement. In a study made in 2012 the statistics showed that more men, with autism, conditions resembling autism and developmental disabilities, use the escortservice according to LSS (The Law of support and service for disabled persons). The purpose of this study is to investigate how an information meeting, between the LSS-administrator and the individual who seek support, is executed. And what information is given to individuals with autism, conditions resembling autism and developmental disabilities. The method used for this study is semistructural interviews with eight LSS-administrators in six municipalities in Kalmar County in Sweden. In the analysis of the result, Yvonne Hirdman’s theory of gender and Charles R Bantz theory of organizations as socially constructed among others, was being used. The results showed no difference in the execution of the information meetings or the information that was provided to men and women with autism, conditions resembling autism and developmental disabilities. The inequality was not something the LSS-administrators had reflected over or discussed. The only difference shown was between the municipalities guidelines when it came to interpreting the law (LSS). After analyzing the result of the study with the chosen theories a possible explanation, for the statistics shown in the previous study that was made in 2012, was presented. The results and analyze showed that the LSS- administrators could have different perceptions about men and women, and therefore gave men and women different information.
