Detta projekt utfördes på uppdrag av Nexans Norway AS i kursen examensarbete för högskoleingenjörsexamen i maskinteknik på Karlstad universitet under våren 2015. Syftet med projektet var att förhindra veckbildning i yttre plastskiktet vid tillverkning av kablar med diametern 300 mm.I slutskedet vid tillverkningen av en kabel med diametern 300 mm extruderas en plast runt om kabeln för att skydda dess innehåll. Efter extruderingsprocessen kyls plasten runt om kabeln ner i ett vattenbad för att påskynda nedkylningsprocessen. I vattenbadet förs kabeln framåt med hjälp av trissor.Veckbildningen i plasten tros uppstå på grund av att kraften som verkar från trissan på kabeln deformerar plasten som har kontakt med trissan. Deformationen kan liknas vid fjädrar som trycks ihop. En materialanhopning bildas före trissan av den plast som ännu inte tryckts ihop. När ansamlingen av material tar sig över trissan till andra sidan bildas det veck i plastskiktet.För att förhindra veckbildningen konstruerades en fjäderanordning vars uppgift var att jämna ut belastningen mellan trissorna.Hypoteserna som har tagits fram i rapporten har inte kunnat testas i verkligheten då det var brist på tillgång till utrustning.

Abstract [en]

This project was commissioned by Nexans Norway AS in the course, degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Karlstad University in the spring of 2015. The aim of the project was to prevent creasing in the outer plastic layer during cable manufacturing of cables with a diameter of 300 mm. In the final stage in the manufacture of a cable with a diameter of 300 mm, plastic is extruded around the cable to protect its contents. After the extrusion process, the plastic around the cable is cooled in a water bath to speed up the cooling process. In the water bath, the cable is brought forward by using rollers. Crease formation in the plastic, is believed to occur due to the force acting from the roller on the cable which deforms the plastic that is in contact with the roller. The deformation resembles springs that are compressed. A material accumulation is formed in front of the roller by the plastics that have not yet been compressed. When the accumulation of material moves over the wheel to the other side, folds are formed in the plastic layer. To prevent fold formation, a spring device was constructed whose function was to even the load between the rollers. The hypotheses that have been developed in the report have not been tested because a lack of access to equipment.
