Professional Culture-Creative School : A qualitative study on the view, the treatment and the use of Creative School in Värmland (English)
Abstract [en]

Children and young people's right to culture is a priority in the Government's cultural policy. Creative school was introduced in 2008 with the aim that children and youth should receive professional culture in school and increasing access to culture in all forms of expression and possibilities of their own creation, with starting points in the school curriculum. The purpose of this bachelor is to explore the view, the treatment and the use of Creative school in Värmland. A comparison has been made between professional culture, which conveys the culture and culture Coordinator who develops and co-ordinates the work of culture in schools, based on their experiences of creating school. I have looked at what barriers and opportunities there are in liaison with the school and how creative activities can be integrated into the school's other subjects. Choice of the method consists of qualitative interviews with art/museum educators and culture Coordinator where the result is analyzed with Dorte Skot-Hansens model from a historical perspective and Geir Vestheims theories of cultural policy as a means and tools to achieve other objectives.

The study results show that the view, the treatment and the use of Creative school in co-operation with the school largely based on teachers ' interest and time. The problems arise in practice where anchoring, knowledge, experience and deeper understanding of each other's activities are important components. But the potential and the possibilities of creating school projects are there, both cultural operators and cultural coordinators ' own experience shows good examples that creativity and creation is an important process that is both strengthened and contributed to the students ' development of knowledge. Cooperation with professional cultural practitioners with and through creating school project’s in school is no longer something on the side, aesthetics and creativity can open new ways to create interest, desire, understanding and lifelong learning, in which cultural investment with the help of cultural policy plays an important role in achieving the objectives and means outside the realm of culture.
