Idag är grafisk designer det mest populära yrket för utbildade formgivare, det innebär stor press på de grafiska designerna att komma med innovativa idéer. Kandidatarbetet undersöker hur en idéprocess innehållande kreativa metoder kan se ut för grafiska designers. Från teori och branschdiskussioner har vi fått grundläggande information om kreativitet och om olika idéprocesser för att kunna genomföra en skriftlig intervju om idéprocesser med nio svenskbaserade grafiska designers. Från intervjusvaren har kreativitetens påverkan och vilka steg i en idéprocess som är viktiga för grafiska designers arbete tagits fram. Vi har testat de olika stegen i de beskrivna idéprocesserna från de tillfrågade grafiska designerna i mindre produktioner genom att utforma logotyp-design till fiktiva kunder. Utifrån produktionen presenterar vi sedan vår tänkta idéprocess för grafiska designers. Today, graphic design is the most popular profession for qualified designers, it means a lot of pressure on the graphic designers to develop innovative ideas. This thesis examines how an idea process containing creative methods might look like for graphic designers. From theory and branch discussions, we received basic information about creativity and about different idea processes. Using this information as a basis we conducted a written interview about idea process with nine Swedish graphic designers. Taking departure from the interviews we are able to discuss creativity's influence on idea processes and also present steps of an possible idea process important for graphic designers´ work. We then tested these different steps of the described idea process in smaller productions by designing logotypes for fictive customers. From our production we present our expected idea process for graphic designers.
