The physical work environment : the relationship with job satisfaction and health (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Our purpose in this paper was to study the physical work environment relationships with job satisfaction and self-reported health. Physical work environment was compiled into the following three variables: aesthetics, symbolism and ergonomics. A webb-based questionnaire with 35 questions was sent out to 162 employees who were deployed in different offices within a company in Sweden. The result of Pearson correlations showed that there were significant associations between certain variables. Job satisfaction was related to both aesthetics and symbolism. Health had a relationship with symbolism. In a detailed analysis of individual issues, there were also found significant correlation between job satisfaction and ergonomics, health and ergonomics, as well as between health and aesthetics.
