Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the Subject-object interview (SOI) is to assess a persons level of mental complexity. Psychometric studies of SOI are few and mainly done in the USA. The aim of the present studie was to explore inter- and intraraterreliability and construct validity in a swedish context. SOI was done on 11 university students aged 20-33. In addition to individual assessment two collaborative were carried out to analyse intraraterreliability. Constructvalidity was explored by external aspects in two questionnaires and an open question. Thematic analyse was used to construe the answers. Results showed a good, almost excellent interratereliability and a good intraraterreliability. Some support was found for a construct validity giving that the themes generated from the open question related to the assessed level of mental complexity in a way that was found meaningful. A discriminante validity was also supported. The conclusion is that SOI can beused by multiple scorers and result in comparable assessment but that more and larger studies are needed to receive more support for a construct validity.
