Abstract [en]

In a work environment where employees can be thrown into all sorts of situations and where anything can happen, it requires that they have good knowledge about what they do and constantly strive to improve their skills. The purpose of this paper is to study how professional police officers perceive learning in their work. Essay authors would like to find out how the police officers experience their formal learning, informal learning and police education. This is by research what the police officers learn through various forms of education and what they learn by practicing their profession. Previous research dealing with the subject and relevant theories are discussed and processed. Qualitative interviews were conducted with 11 informants and the results that emerged where that the police officers generally think that the police education where good and that the most important part of their schooling consisted of the police trainee. They learn a lot through experience and their colleagues. The courses and programs offered within the work are good but they want to be able to experience more courses. They argue that the rate-based development opportunities are low, but that development possibilities are endless when it comes to learning through experience.

Abstract [sv]

I en arbetsmiljö där de anställda kan kastas in i alla möjliga situationer och där vad som helst kan hända krävs det att de har god kunskap om vad de gör och hela tiden strävar efter att förbättra sina kompetenser. Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera hur yrkesverksamma ordningspoliser upplever lärande i sitt arbete. Uppsatsförfattarna vill ta reda på hur ordningspoliserna upplever formellt lärande, informellt lärande och polisutbildningen. Detta genom att undersöka vad ordningspoliserna lär sig genom olika utbildningsformer och vad de lär sig genom att praktisera sitt yrke. Tidigare forskning som behandlar ämnet och relevanta teorier tas upp och bearbetas. Kvalitativa intervjuer genomfördes på 11 informanter och resultatet som framkom var att ordningspoliserna överlag tycker att polisutbildningen var bra och att den viktigaste delen av deras skolgång utgjordes av aspiranten. De lär sig mycket genom erfarenhet och sina kollegor. Kurserna och utbildningarna de erbjuds inom arbetet är bra men de önskar att få gå fler olika kurser. De menar att de kursbaserade utvecklingsmöjligheterna är låga, men att utvecklingsmöjligheterna är oändliga när det kommer till att lära sig genom erfarenhet.
