Ethnic diversity in Top Management Teams : A quantitative study on how ethnic diversity in Top Management Teams influence non financial outcomes in hybrid organizations. (English)
Abstract [sv]

Syfte: Att förklara hur etnisk mångfald i TMT påverkar icke-finansiella utfall i hybrida företag.

Abstract [en]

Background and problem: Ethnic and cultural diversity in TMT has become an increasingly more common phenomenon as a result of globalization. Previous studies about ethnic and cultural diversity in TMT and its influence on organizational outcomes has mainly focused on the private sector and financial outcomes. These studies have also excluded TMT-processes, which in turn has yielded mixed results.Purpose: Too explain how ethnic diversity in TMT influences non-financial outcomes in hybrid organizations.Method: This study is based on a quantitative research method, where data has been collected through web surveys. The populations sample consisted of 98 hybrid organizations in the swedish public sector. To answer the purpose od the study, we generated three hypotheses from previous studiesConclusion: We have found that ethnic diversity does not have any influence on neither behaviourintergration nor ambidextrity in hybrid organizations. We have also found that behaviour intergration has a positive effect on ambidextrity in organizations in the public sector as well. In connection with this, we have also found that behaviourintergration together with variation in TMT-tenure increases the degree of ambidextrity in hybrid organizations.
