Abstract [sv]

Detta examensarbete behandlar högeffektstransistorer och de värmeproblem som medföljer hög effekt i en liten komponent. Närmare behandlas alternativa metoder för mätning av värmen i komponenten för applicering i utvecklingsmiljö.

 

En mätstation har tagits fram för att komparativt mäta värmens påverkan på komponenten med en artikel publicerad av McAlister et al. [1] som förlaga. I artikeln mäts förändringen av strömmen genom komponenten, för att åskådliggöra värmens inverkan. 

 

Resultatet av arbetet är en för ändamålet fungerande mätstation samt rekommendationer för användning, förbättring och vidareutveckling av densamma. 

Abstract [en]

This thesis concerns high-effect transistors and the problem with self heating that follows high power in a small component. Closely considered is an alternative technique for measurement of temperature in the component for application in research and development.

 

Throughout the thesis work a station has been produced for comparative measurements of how the heat influences the component, with a published article by McAlister et al. [1] as model. This method allows the current characteristics to show what impact the heat has in the component.

 

The outcome of this thesis work is a measurement station according to the standards set, and also includes recommendations for use, improvement and further development of the same.
