Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to examine six students' perceptions of the importance of therelationships they have to their teachers. The questions concern the value of the relationship to the student and what affects its quality. The study was conducted based on the relational pedagogy perspective, which means that relationship and education are interdependent.Interviews were used as method. The result shows that the quality of the relationship is very important to the interviewed students and that factors such as communication, attitude, confidence and motivation are factors that are crucial in students' descriptions of the relationships. Conclusions are drawn about the students' need to be seen and heard, that body language and facial expressions affect students to a great extent, and that the studentsexperiences of different teachers can be based on how the teacher makes them feel.
