Time to make some money! : A study about the possibility to earn abnormal return by mimicking the insiders in the Swedish oil industry (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

We have studied whether or not it is possible to earn money by mimicking insider trading after the transaction has been published publicly. The study has been limited to only include buy and sell transactions of the oil companies that can be traded on the Stockholm stock exchange main market listings and First North. The study was made as an event study where we used statistical tests to examine if there are significant differences in daily returns before and after the insider transaction was made public. This turned out not to be the case, since the fluctuations that were found were not consistent and it couldn’t be proved that the differences were due to the insider trading at all.
