Abstract [sv]

Detta projekt har syftat till att undersöka möjligheten att implementera en dopplerradar för använding av cyklister i trafik med hjälp av radarkomponent TRX_024_06 från Silicon Radar. Tanken är att radarkomponenten skall vara en del av ett varningssystem som uppmärksammar användaren för bakomvarande trafik.

En dopplerradar har implementerats med hjälp av TRX_024_06 tillsammans med en USB-ansluten A/D-omvandlare (NI USB-6216), filter, förstärkare och en bärbar dator med studentversion av LabView installerat.

De experiment som har utförts har visat radarkomponentens egenskaper i inomhusmiljö och i trafik, där signalbehandling sker med hjälp av program i LabView. De parametrar som har varit föremål för undersökning är hastighet och riktning hos de fordon som befinner sig bakom cykel.

Det har även gjorts försök att ta fram tryckta Yagi-Uda antenner för mottagning och sändning av radiovågor. Dessa har tillverkats på kretskortlaminat och testats i nätverksanalysator och tillsammans med radarkomponenten.

Abstract [en]

The aim of this project has been to examine the possibility to implement a doppler radar for use by cyclists in traffic with the radar component TRX_024_06 from Silicon Radar. The main idea is that the radar component should be part of a warning system that makes the user aware of traffic in the direction behind the bicykle.

A doppler radar has been implemented with TRX_024_06, an USB-connected A/D-converter (NI USB-6216), active filters, amplifiers and a laptop with a student version of LabView installed.

The experiments performed shows the properties of TRX_024_06 when placed indoors and in traffic. The signal processing is done by a program made in LabView.

The parameters of interest has been the speed and direction of the veichles located behind the bicykle.

An attempt to design printed Yagi-Uda antennas for transmission and reception of radiowaves has also been made. These have been printed on a circuit board and tested with a network analyser and with the radar component.
