Abstract [sv]

Det har börjat bli allt vanligare att organisationer ser över sina traditionella intranät och börjar titta på möjligheterna med sociala intranät (Ward, 2012). I den här uppsatsen presenteras en definition av ett socialt intranät och hur det främjar informationsdeltagande och socialt nätverkande. Genom att utföra en fallstudie på Medarbetarportalen på Uppsala universitet har det framkommit att det finns ett antal hinder som har en negativ effekt på införandet. Vi anser att en utförlig behovsanalys, där man inte haft överseende med någon organisatorisk eller informell grupp där samtliga intressenter är medvetna om vilka fördelar som finns med sociala intranät, är nödvändigt för lyckat ett projektet.

Abstract [en]

It has become more and more frequent lately that organisations are reviewing their traditional intranets and started looking into social intranets (Ward, 2012). Sadly it is always not so clear what a social intranet is and what it hopes to solve. In this essay a definition of a social intranet is presented but also how it promotes information sharing and social networking. By conducting a case study of Medarbetarportalen (the co-worker portal) in Uppsala University we have been able to come to the conclusion that there are a number of obstacles that have a negative effect on introducing the system. We believe a detailed requirements analysis where you do not evade any organizational or informal group and where the respondents are aware of the benefits that exist with a social intranet are important for a successful outcome of the project.
