Nature science and technology in collaboration with ICT in preschool (English)
Abstract [en]

The main purpose of this study is to, in the educator’s point of view, try to find out how pre-schools approach science and technology along with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The survey was conducted based on qualitative interviews where two preschools participated, a total of seven teachers were interviewed. One of the preschools only has access to a computer, and the other preschool is able to use both computer and tablets in their preschool activities. The results of this show that the teacher’s thoughts about ICT are positive and that they consider it as an important part of their work and have many areas where it is useful. However, the educators at one of the preschool thinks that they have a bit to low knowledge of science and technology to be able to work with it in a proper way. The results show that the opinions are divided as to how the respective preschools will be working with these subjects. Although one preschool believes that they are not working with science and technology, it still shows in the study that they do, even though they are not aware of it.

Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien är att utifrån pedagogernas synvinkel, ta reda på hur förskolans arbetssätt inkluderar naturvetenskap och teknik tillsammans med informations- och kommunikationsteknik (IKT). Undersökningen är gjord utifrån kvalitativa intervjuer där två förskolor medverkat, varav totalt sju pedagoger har intervjuats. Den ena förskolan har enbart tillgång till en dator och den andra förskolan har möjlighet att använda sig av både dator och surfplattor. Resultatet visar att pedagogernas syn på IKT är positivt och att de anser det som ett viktigt inslag i verksamheten som de använder till mycket. Dock anser pedagogerna på ena förskolan att de har allt för låga kunskaper om naturvetenskap och teknik för att för tillfället kunna arbeta med det. Resultatet visar att det råder delade meningar om hur respektive förskola arbetar med dessa ämnen. Även fast den ena förskolan anser att de inte arbetar med naturvetenskap och teknik framgår det ändå i undersökningen att de trots allt gör det, men på ett omedvetet sätt.
