Abstract [sv]

Undersökningen jämför hur arbetet med träd skiljer sig åt mellan förskolor som har naturprofil ochförskolor utan sådan profil. För att ta reda på hur pedagoger arbetar med träd har pedagoger delsintervjuats och dels deltagit i en enkätundersökning. Pedagoger vid förskolor med naturprofilarbetar med träd på ett planerat, detaljerat och ingående sätt. En stor vikt läggs vid faktakunskapersom artkunskap samt olika naturvetenskapliga processer och kretslopp. Barnens intresse får i storutsträckning leda vägen för om och hur arbetet med träd utvecklas på förskolor utan naturprofil.Barnens upplevelse av träd anses av pedagogerna viktigare än faktakunskaper, även om processer,kretslopp och trädarter nämns. Undersökningen visar att förskolors inriktning har betydelse för hurpedagoger arbetar med träd på förskolan.

Abstract [en]

The study compares how preschools with and without nature profile work with trees. The researchis based on interviews and written questionnaires, answered by educators. The results show thateducators from preschools, which have a specific profile involving nature, work with threes in amore planned, detailed and thorough manner. This group emphasizes factual knowledge, such asknowledge about tree species and knowledge of various processes and cycles that can be observedin nature. Whereas working with trees, among preschools without a specific profiling towardsnature, is largely determined by the children's interest. The educators deem children's experiences oftrees to be more important than knowing facts about trees. Though processes, cycles in nature, anddifferent species of trees are mentioned by this group, too. The study shows that the profile of thepreschool matter with regards to the extent educators involve trees in educating preschool children.
