Accelererad provning av vägkonstruktioner: referensöverbyggnad enligt ATB Väg
2010 (Swedish)Report (Other academic)Alternative title
Accelerated load testing of pavement structures : reference structure according to the Swedish (English)
In this report, two full-scale tests (SE10 and SE11) are described that were performed under the same test conditions in order to investigate the accuracy of repeated tests. The tests were performed by accelerated loading using the HVS (Heavy Vehicle Simulator) in the road laboratory at the VTI. The purpose of performing two tests with the same kind of road structures, i.e. a reference construction according to the Swedish Road Administration's ATB Väg, under the same test conditions was to get to know the accuracy of the test results from repeated test. This was made in order to be able to make demands on the results of corresponding HVS-tests of road structures that don't follow the specifications of the Swedish Road Administration, for example alternative road structures in cases of side tenders contracts. The results presented in this report are the results from surface rut depth measurements, permanent deformations in different layers and total deformation of the subgrade during the tests as well as falling weight deflectometer measurements before and after the tests. The results of the response measurements (stresses, strains and deflections) are stored in an Access database for later analyses. The results of rut depth measurements show a relatively large difference in rut depth growth on the surface during the second phase (in wet condition) of the two tests. In two out of five measurement positions there was correspondence, whereas in the three other measurement positions there was a larger rut depth concerning SE11. The deviation could be referred to the rut depth growth during the first days in wet condition but some clear reason has not been able to be determined.
