Tramtrains - Innovative public transport. Final report (English)
Abstract [sv]

The aim of the research project "Tramtrain - Innovative public transport" is

to describe and analyse if and how regional transport systems with tramtrains

as an integrated part can contribute to more efficient and sustainable

transportation in Swedish cities and regions. The aim is reached by describing

and analyzing the prerequisites, design and consequences of a regional public

transport system based on tramtrains. The research questions were applied and

answered by designing and analysing a possible scenario for the future public

transportation with buses, trams and trains in the East Gothia region in the

southeast part of Sweden.
