Generating homogeneous road sections based on surface measurements: Available methods. Reprint from 2nd European Pavement and Asset Management Conference, 21-23 March 2004, Berlin Germany. (Paper no. 48)
2004 (English)Report (Other academic)
Modern road profilers deliver long measurement series of road surface
characteristics such as IRI or rut depth. These measurement series have to be
"chopped up" into parts of similar values in order to summarize the
information they contain and to generate road sections that are meaningfully
handled as units in pavement management systems. Three algorithms for this
purpose are described and compared with respect to methodological aspects as
well as data requirements.
