Abstract [sv]

Extra exhaust emissions after short, 10 to 60 minutes, engine stops appear

not to approach zero linearly as the stop time goes to zero. Particularly

large deviations are those of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulates for

cars without as well

as with catalyst. Extra NOx emissions for catalyst cars are higher for 1 h

stop time than both for shorter and longer stop time. Large systematic

variations in emission levels were confirmed for extended driving distance

during dynamometer runs also after a 23 km warm-up. From this follows that

the NOx reduction with time estimated in national inventories, if these

circumstances are considered, can be expected to decrease.
