Abstract [sv]

Studiens syfte har varit att via fokusgrupper undersöka rektorers sociala representationer av lärarskicklighet samt hur de samtalar om bedömning och premiering av de lärare som de upplever är skickliga. Det resultat som framkommit är att rektorer har en gemensam bild av vad lärarskicklighet är utifrån formell och informell kompetens, men att tonvikten läggs på olika kompetenser i rektorsgrupperna. Det finns en sammastämmighet i att skickliga lärare har en medfödd talang, en tyst kunskap. Hur de ser på vad lärarskicklighet är, får konsekvenser för hur de bedömer och premierar de lärare som de upplever som skickliga.  I första hand är det inte vardagsarbetet i klassrummet som premieras, utan övergripande utvecklingsarbete av verksamheten som helhet.

Abstract [en]

The aim in this study is to examine the socialrepresentations of teacher skillness, among principals by focus groups, and howthey communicate judgment and rewarding of skilled teachers in their opinion.The result is that principals have a common picture of teacher skillness, informal and informal competences, but their focus meaning differs in theprincipal groups. There is an agreement about skilled teachers having a talentfrom birth, a tacit knowledge. Their opinion of what teacher skillness is, haveconsequences for how they judge and reward the teacher they find skilled.  It´s not the everyday work in the classroomthat is rewarded primarily, but the overall development of the whole agency.
