Abstract [en]

The use of smartphones has grown increasingly over the last few years. These devices contain much information that could be interesting during a police investigation.

One of the most used smartphones, to date, is the Apple iPhone. You can assume, if it's not already the case, that these devices will have a bigger significance when it comes to gathering evidence and information about a person's social connections and whereabouts. In this study I am going to perform three experiments based on different conditions we may face in forensic investigations, and gather certain information from the iPhone. I am also investigating what challanges this presents to us from a law enforcement point of view.
