Abstract [en]

This thesis is focused on the synthesis of three different shapes of gold

nanoparticles; the gold nanosphere, the gold nanorod and the gold nanocube. These

will be synthesized using wet chemistry methods and characterized using UV-Vis-

NIR spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering. The results will be used to draw

some conclusions as to what factors influence the growth of gold nanoparticles.
