Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Depression är en folksjukdom som kan drabba alla människor oavsett ålder, kön och etnicitet. Den effektivaste behandlingen av depressioner anses vara en kombination av antidepressiva läkemedel och samtalsterapi. Det finns vissa belägg för fysisk aktivitet som ett framgångsrik preventiv åtgärd mot depression. Regelbunden fysisk aktivitet har en stor betydelse för folkhälsan och motverkar de vanligaste folksjukdomarna. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva evidens för effekt av fysisk aktivitet i samband med depression. Metod: Metoden var en litteraturstudie. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar granskades, analyserades och sammanställdes därefter utifrån effekten av fysisk aktivitet vid depression. Resultat: Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie visade att evidensen för effekt av fysisk aktivitet minskar risken för framtida ångest och depression. Slutsats: Effekt av fysisk aktivitet vid depression eller depressionssymtom i dagsläget inte är bevisad, eftersom många av studierna inom området inte når upp till vetenskapliga krav. Ett flertal studier visar dock att fysisk aktivitet påverkar depressionssymtom i positivt utsträckning.

Abstract [en]

Background: Depression is a common disease that can affect all people regardless of age, gender and ethnicity. The most effective treatment of depression a combination of antidepressants and psychotherapy. There is some evidence for physical activity as a successful preventive measure against depression. Regular physical activity has a major impact on public health and prevents the most common diseases. Objective: Aim of this study was to describe the evidence for the effect of physical activity associated with depression. Method: The method was a literature study. Ten articles were reviewed, analyzed and compiled then by the effects of physical activity on depression. Results: The results of this study showed that the evidence for the efficacy of physical activity reduces the risk of future anxiety and depression. Conclusion: The effect of physical activity on depression or depressive symptoms in the current situation is not proven, because many of the studies in the area do not meet scientific requirements. Numerous studies show that physical activity influences depression symptoms in a positive way.
