Abstract [en]

Housing policy in Hällefors town, with a decreasing population,and 10-20 % empty apartments, is described. Houses were takendown, investments for improved beauty and functionality, madein three residential areas. The ensuing decreased frequency ofmoving proved the investments to be worth while. Sustainability inHällefors subsequent to the measures take is discussed.
