Abstract [sv]

Syftet med detta arbete var att ta fram en arbetsmetod som underlättar arbetsgången med verktygsoptimering på Scanias produktionsenhet för motorkomponenter. Metoden ska beskriva hur arbetet ska ske internt såväl som hur arbetet ska ske med verktygsleverantörer. Arbetsmetoden ska både behandla hur optimering av befintliga bearbetningsprocesser ska gå till samt hur tillvägagångssättet för verktygsoptimering vid anskaffning av nya verkstadsmaskiner.

Som metod valdes att studera befintliga arbetsprocesser på Scania samt att utföra semistrukturerade intervjuer med personer i funktioner inom motor som idag arbetar med dessa frågor. Dessa funktioner har främst varit bearbetningstekniker, beredare, metodlabb, inköp, produktionstekniker, produktionsledare och operatörer.

Intervjuer genomfördes också med representanter för de tre mest anlitade verktygsleverantörerna.

Resultatet blev att en befintlig tidigare okänd väl fungerande arbetsprocess har identifierats. Processen lider idag av vissa svårigheter vid dels initieringen av nya uppdrag samt vid införandet av framtagna lösningar. Vid initieringen behövs uppdragsbeskrivningar med tydligare målbild. I införandefasen behövs tydligare ansvarsfördelning för att säkerställa att nya lösningar faktiskt införs.

Det har framkommit att det finns ett stort behov av uppföljning av skärdata samt att funktionen bearbetningstekniks bidrag till organisation bör belysas, ur både produktions och ekonomisk synpunkt.

Behovet av ett skärteknisktutlåtande har tydliggjorts och ingående parametrar har identifierats.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this thesis was to produce a process to ease the work with tool optimizations at Scanias production unit for engine components. The process should describe how the work should be carried out internally as well as how to work with tool suppliers. The process should also describe how to work with optimisation of existing machining operations as well as how to proceed with tool optimisation when purchasing new machines.

The method that was chosen for conducting the study was to first study present methods at Scania and to conduct semi structured interviews with people working in functions within Engine that work with these questions today. These functions are machining technician, tool designer, process planer, tool development, purchasing, production technician, group manager and operator.

Interviews were also conducted with representatives of the three main tool suppliers.

The result is that a previously unknown well working process has been identified. The process all though well working struggles with some difficulties. Mainly at the beginning with identifying the actual problem area and putting down a well formulated and clearly defined problem definition with clear goals. There are also problem at the end with poorly defined responsibility areas that results in that some solutions are never incorporated.

It has been made clear that there is a need to follow up machining data and that there is a need to elucidate the function Machining Technology contribution to the organization, both from a production and economic point.

The necessity of a machining opinion has been made

evident and the parameters that should be included identified.
