Abstract [sv]

Detta examensarbete syftar till att undersöka de olika teknikerna som lämpar sig för att

kommunicera med en dräneringspump. Behovet av att kunna kommunicera med

dräneringspumpen är i dagsläget växande. Detta då det inuti dräneringspumparna

börjar finnas allt mer smart elektronik som övervakar pumpen men ännu ingen klar

lösning för hur denna smarta elektronik ska kunna nå ut med sin data. I dag måste

dräneringspumparna öppnas upp för att data som den smarta elektroniken samlat in

skall kunna läsas ur. Att öppna dräneringspumpen tar tid och packningar måste

rengöras eller bytas p.g.a. själva öppnandet. Detta har resulterat i att många kunder i

dagsläget inte använder sig av funktionaliteten som den smarta elektroniken erbjuder

utan istället använder sina dräneringspumpar tills de havererar.

Examensarbetet beskriver en handfull olika kommunikationslösningar och vad de

erbjuder för möjligheter och begränsningar. En referensgrupp bestående av personer

från ITT W & WW samt dotterbolaget Grindex har bidragit med åsikter om vilka

lösningar som är de mest intressanta. De två kommunikationslösningarna som i

slutändan visat sig vara mest intressanta har sedan undersökts mer noggrant.

Till sist har examensarbetet mynnat ut i dels en rapport till ITT W & WW om vad som

kan göras och en rekommendation om vad ITT W & WW bör göra.

Abstract [en]

This Master of Science Thesis aim to review the different techniques that can be used

for communication with a dewaterning pump. The need for communication with the

dewatering pumps is growing. This is due to the fact that more and more smart

monitoring electronics is integrated inside the dewatering pump. However there is yet

no way to reach out with the monitoring data through the dewatering pumps cases.

Today the pump casings need to be opened to reach the monitored data. The opening

procedure takes some unwanted time and sealings need to be cleaned or replaced just

because of the opening procedure. This have resulted in many customers don’t use the

functionality the smart electronics offer. Instead the run their dewatering pumps until

they failure.

The thesis describes a handful different solutions for communication and what

opportunities and limitations the offer. A reference group consisting of peoples from ITT

W & WW and the affiliate Grindex have contributed with thoughts regarding which

solutions that is more interesting. The two communications solutions which have shown

to be most interesting have been closer reviewed.

Finally this thesis have lead to a report to ITT W & WW describing what can be done

and a recommendation of what ITT W & WW should do.
