Abstract [en]

The relationship between the medieval catherdral and the modern skyscraper is the dominating theme of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. The article claims that Metropolis should be seen as an anti-expressioninst film, which poses a critical stance with regard to the Bauhaus tradition.
