This paper aims to examine how, and if, music is being used integrated in other subjects than
music in school. The study is based on qualitative interviews and I haveinterviewed four
teachers, regardless of whether they use music a lot or not.
The questions the study is based
on are if there might be a connection between theteachers' own feelings for music and
whether they use music in
school or not, how music is being used and does the use of music
give any effects?
The result of this study shows that there can be a connection between the teachers owns
feelings for music and the fact if they use music when they teach or not. One of the teachers
I’ve interviewed had bad music experiences and did
not use music in her teaching. The study
also shows that it is common to use music as a part of teaching. Music is being used to
develop the children's language and their reading skills. It also shows that music creates a
good climate in the classroom.As for the effects, my study shows that the use of music gives
better self-confidence and self-esteem,their language and the climate in the class
